Ron-I have that same cactus.We were fishing on the Rio Grande about 25 years ago and I spotted it on the side of the steep rocky bank above the river.DH climbed up the bank and got it for me.It was the size of a baseball and had beautiful fuschia flowers on it.It has survived being dug up and moved 3 times,run over by a bulldozer,chopped with a weed eater and smashed by a pickup truck tire.It is now in a pot on my deck and is about the size of a volleyball! 6 years agoBirthday party - DD’s birthday was in May so we picked up her favorite cake, parked by her condo, popped the back and sang Happy Birthday through our masks. Some drivers tooted their horns as they drove past and people walking down the sidewalk wished her a H.B. Definitely one to remember. You can see some of her gifts too - much needed paper products.
6 years agoOur town Bison. The police department started entertaining the town by setting up "Ralphie" in different areas, both business and residential. They were doing this during the night and then you never knew where he was going to pop up. People have gone crazy trying to spot Ralphie and then posting it on our local Facebook page. It's been a fun diversion from having to be inside so much. This is when he was on my street.
