From my hike yesterday.....I climbed to the top of a mountain and was rewarded with this view. The hike wasn't long (15 or 20 minutes) but it was steep!

A small cactus in bloom. The plant itself is the size of a golf ball.

McConnells Mill State Park, Pennsylvania. Popular with hikers for it's rugged trails through the rocks and sheer drop offs down to the river. This beautiful weekend will almost certainly bring about the need for a rescue or two from the rocks by emergency personnel.

This castle reminds me of the picture jahalaro posted. This one is found in Omaha NE. It is a smaller scale. Was built out in the country but Omaha has now grown all the way around it so it now sits in the middle. Well not even the middle because Omaha has grown way out past where it sits. Joslyn Castle

Gorgeous pictures as always!
Ron-I have that same cactus.We were fishing on the Rio Grande about 25 years ago and I spotted it on the side of the steep rocky bank above the river.DH climbed up the bank and got it for me.It was the size of a baseball and had beautiful fuschia flowers on it.It has survived being dug up and moved 3 times,run over by a bulldozer,chopped with a weed eater and smashed by a pickup truck tire.It is now in a pot on my deck and is about the size of a volleyball! Still has beautiful blooms every year.
