My favorite antique store closed...
Comments (12)Fortunately they are closing because they are getting older and tired of running the store, not because they are losing money. The bad thing for the economy is they are having trouble selling the building, and gave up on selling the business. They emptied it out by having these sales cuz the realtor said it would be better. That said, there used to be tons of "junk" shops around when I was young. They are mostly gone, non profit thrift stores have taken their place. I do miss them. That is a Fire King Peach Lustre plate. It had scratches in the middle as do several of the others. 2 of them are pristine and still have the gold stickers on them. I'll definitely save those. I did look on ebay and although a few things that I bought are priced high, they con't seem to be selling. The right buyer never came to their store, even at their occassional 50% off sales, so I'm not sure that I would have better luck finding the right buyer. The crystal stuff fits right in with my grandmother's wedding gifts that I like to use on special occassions. I'm glad to have it. Thanks for looking and commenting. Comments (3)Hi and welcome. Do you know what kind your plants are? I think our resident North Carolinian is Mona. She is a regular poster and will be able to give great advice tailored to your locale. Fertilizers can be made as complex or simple as you want it. As you get more comfortable with your new Plumerias you can always experiment with other fertilizers but for right now I would look for a more forgiving balanced fertilizer such as Osmacote 14-14-14 or use what you have and adjust longer the application schedule AND cut the dosage down by at least half to prevent salt build up in your soil. Leaves turning brown from the bottom of the plant are easily surmised as they are done and the plant no longer has use for them. If it continues past the bottom most leaves then it could be other issues such as too much or too little water. The best thing is be consistent and observe then adjust until you come up with your sweetspot. Good luck....See MoreMy new (old) favorite store
Comments (2)I understand why you stocked up, though. You haven't been able to find those things in the past 8 years, have you? You were moving to a completely different continent and thought you wouldn't be able to get them. And you haven't. Until now. There's only 1 store in Canada, after all. There are 9 in America, but only on the west coast--Washington and California. I've had so many things I like discontinued that I'm often tempted to stock up when I find something that *works*. Lucy, CreativeSpacesUSA.com has gone out of business, and that domain name will soon be owned by Organize.com....See MoreTwo of my favorite ornaments we purchase at a thirft store
