I have a constant battle with the number of books in my house, so I am always on the lookout for more bookcases and shelving. Thankfully there are some gorgeous contemporary options out there, many of which add style and artistic qualities, as well as practical storage solutions. For those times when you just need a small amount of space to house a book, these mini picture frame–style shelves are great.

I love the Penguin Donkey! It's a great piece of furniture design in its own right, but it's also a fully functional book shelf with several compartments and shelves.
