It’s so glitchy. I’m experiencing the same problems here as you. I just wish it would stop switching from GW to Houzz! And replies being out of order is ridiculous on this style of message board format.

It always boggles my mind that a website of this size, this number of posters, Houzz wanting to sell things and services ... has the worst tech support of any I've ever been on. AOL dial-up, circa 2000, ran better than here. 😂

Are you seeing the 'new to me' Sort by: on the right side when you look at a post and want to read the comments? To me, I want to see them in the order in which they were added, to see the progression. 'Newest' seems to be the default, and I don't see a way to indicate a preference that will stay, so each time I read a post I have to select Oldest.

Yes, I have done that my3 but it STILL stays random. And, how funny is this. If I go to my profile-- here are the 2 threads I started earlier today. I guess only visible by me. Thank you both for replying and verifying that THIS post is up.

It seems to get a "best answer" badge awarded for the answer with the most "likes" then that answer appears at the top, regardless of when it was posted. Then, if you switch from "newest" first to "oldest" first, the "best answer" remains at the top of the list and also appears as a duplicate in the thread in the chronological order.

Since you can no longer find a list of GW forums, I suspect they are not long for these boards.

I used to think I was crazy because I would come here and see threads from the day before but I never saw them “yesterday,” even though there were plenty of responses. This probably still happens a few times a month and now I know it’s a glitch. Used to freak me out though!

It's so annoying to need to sort each thread oldest to newest post! It doesn't make any sense to read a thread starting at the newest post??? And why do some comments always stay at the end? It's like trying to make sense of a conversation in a time-warp.

I have not had problems and for me it does not switch back and forth. I rarely look at Gardenweb on my phone, always on my laptop or desktop at home. BUT, this past week, while my dad was in the hospital, my sister and I rotated days staying with him. He napped alot and I could not focus on a book, so I would get on my phone and surf. When I went to gardenweb, I did get the thingy My3dogs showed above where you can pick the order of the responses. It was in reverse order of what I see on my computer, but I simply chose the other option and had no more problems.

Mine also switches between GW and Houzz and depending on which site version I see, people’s names are different! I hate the newest to oldest sorting and the fact that you now have to check which order you’re looking at. The “best answer” is ridiculous and inane. I am not surprised the traffic is so slow and surely do miss the pre-Houzz Gardenweb.

When this just opened in houzz, I was unable to "like" or thank. When I substituted gardenweb I was able to like and thank. It switches back and forth and even when I opt for oldest to newest, as I said, it doesn't do it.

I really was hoping that the 2 posts that never showed up would attract an answer (and was hoping for definitive) from the powers that be explaining it all.

It seems that once you reply. It freezes, so refresh and then choose "oldest" first AGAIN!

Also notice that posts are cut off and you now have to click on "read more". You now have to continually scroll up/down and keep clicking to read through a thread.

I still only read here on my iPad. It randomly switches between oldest to newest with comment box last (my preference), or comment box first, best answer which I skip over since it will appear within the thread, newest to oldest, and starting yesterday the option to switch. But I had to choose oldest first in every post I entered, it doesn’t retain the choice. The comment box stayed at the top, which is awkward if I read through the thread oldest to newest and then have to go back to the beginning to make a comment. That doesn‘t seem to encourage participation. Currently as I type this, it is o/n/comment box or I wouldn’t have stopped to comment.

I also noticed a delay the few times I started a thread. I suspected the reason was new posts were being moderated before being posted. Perhaps some words are automatically flagged for moderation? In any case, the time lapse certainly didn't encourage me from starting new posts. Experienced the same thing as you, Salonva, where I would see my post on my profile but couldn't find it anywhere in the forum. Pretty sure I've complained about it as well in the Using Houzz forum.

Popped in to this Conversations forum just now to post something and spotted your thread reminding me of the forum glitches. I'll go ahead and see if the same glitches appear this time.

Someone posted on a thread of mine earlier in the week that she had sent me a PM.

SEVENTEEN HOURS LATER it appeared in my inbox! This forum has more bugs than a Costa Rican rainforest, and the glitches occur sporadically and randomly, making it clear that the problem rests with Houzz IT functionality, not moderating. At least that's my deduction.

I e had no problems on my iPad since I switched back to gardenweb, not Houzz. However, my thread about the lady wearing a tan bodysuit got yanked, so somebody is watching what’s going on here. So just remember that, no bodysuits ever! Maybe it was the references to what appeared to be her natal cleft.

Well, everything was normal for me here until just now. Who thinks up these improvements? Why would I want to read the last comment forts and better yet, comment before reading what others have said, which btw is what I am doing right now out of frustration. Grrrrr ...
