You keep them because you never know. :) I have found a tile similar to yours at Dal Tile and I could put them in and just cover them up with a "real" throw rug. I just thought if we sell the house it will be an issue to the buyer. If I make it look intentional like I wanted a build in rock rug at least they will just think I have quirky taste. :) hee hee You are very nice and I really appreciate the offer but I can't accept. I'm still hunting and I'm not sure what I will do. I actually like the idea of the rock/pebble thing but I just need to keep looking and make sure I get one that blends in. Also I have pieces of my tile that are cut and I could piece two of them together with super glue (maybe) and they would be not square and not the right size but hey, better than nothing. We will see. I am glad I got some good feedback about the rock idea. It's nice to have as an option and know that other people out there like it also. without knowing your style, I'll suggest mine. I'd paint the Door wall a color you love, something that will make you smile every time you look that way. Yes, a big Mirror (Round for fun) above your console, so last minute look before you go out. a Bowl for keys, etc. a Hook or few for a quick hang. And a long runner... to fill the space, something inexpensive, so you can change it out when interests change. Ruggables.com, rugs.com, wayfair.com lots of options. Have Fun!

Sometimes it's good to see what others have done. What's with the Spanish candelier? It's a split level and it's naturally contemporary in style. Adding texture to the wall with batten strips could be interesting. Adding a wainscoting could cut the height of the walls visually A shelf and mirror or hooks and bench like you see below is an option also. I don't think the walls should remain simply white.
