Entry way decor
Comments (5)I think the mirror could look amazing with a modern, kind of glam chest/console under it. Just an example (from Horchow) ... Another ... For rugs, I think the floor is pretty as is, but I love the look of rugs, too. You could go on the sites I posted on your other thread and do some mock-ups. And if you like the look, you could do more than one rug, especially since this isn’t one square room, but has lots of angles. You could do a runner, and a cowhide in this area: For the corner, lots of things you could do .... faux plant, small accent table, etc. And pretty art on the walls around it....See MoreBest way to rearrange and decorate the entrance of apartment!
Comments (5)So for the back door, get a bench fir the right side, this will give you a space to put your most commonly used/snowy/wet/muddy shoes and a place to put them on. It also will give that area more symmetrical. Second, I dont have measurements but it looks like there's a lot of extra space in the kitchen. You can add an island make from stock/found cabinets (try nextdoor app) and use butcher block or just a 1.5 inch thick top. You can extend the top out 1/3 the distance of the cabinets depth. This will give you a place for a few bar stools. Lastly, I'd move the table back towards the wall that's seen in the 2nd photo. The dresser can go on the wall opposite the cabinet to store anything you need if there isn't room to keep it where it is. If you have measurements, it would help to make sure there's enough room and extact placement but I think it might work....See MoreSplit level entry decorating help!
Comments (2)The walls should stay clear - no shelving or anything that sticks out. Painting a dark accent wall is going to make the space seem chopped up. I would just paint the doors a deep color that coordinates with other colors in your home. It gives them more presence and interest. You could put a large round mirror or a large piece of art on the wall next to the door, across from your hooks....See MoreEntry way decor
Comments (5)I had almost that exact set up in my last home. I wish I had a pic to share! There was 8’ of wall between door trim top & window trim bottom. My window was a 6’ square with panes like yours & my door had sidelights on each side as yours does. I went creative. I found an ornate iron twin bed headboard in a garage sale. It was white with touches of gold & had a sloped shape from center to each side. It was just about the same size width wise as the door & 2 sidelights. I cleaned it up, removed all obvious hardware, added some gilt paint rubbed on to make it emphasize the lines and design & mounted it above the door. I also had brass door hardware & a hanging light in brass as you do. The headboard created an interesting crown over the door & really added interest to the entry. I did have color on the walls & in area rugs on top of wood oak floors. Not one person ever guessed what the piece above the door was. When we sold that house, the buyer made it a condition of sale that the piece stayed! We were fine with that knowing we had no place for it in new home. So, that’s my suggestion - go creative with an eye catching but lightweight piece hung in that space. It will take you awhile to find ’it’....See Morejbella2012
