This looks like "Smith's Parish," A China Rose, and one of the "Bermuda Mystery Roses." It does many color combinations: Bob Edberg opines that this is probably the lost "Five-Colored Rose," noting logically that, if he were Robert Fortune, that's what HE would have called it. :-) Jeri

Kes Z, thank you It certainly matches the description of Orange Hearts. You have an observant eye to have noticed the heart shaped petals. One of the photos on HMF even shows the mauve hue on the petal's edge. It make sense that it would be a "found rose" because of the miss named shrub that I got my cutting. People will find a register name to put on a mystery rose so they can enter it in rose shows.

HMF lists several roses which have Snow Pavement as the seed parent, including self-pollinated, so yes, I would guess the hips have a high chance of containing viable seeds.
