Exterior Home Help (Desperately) Needed
Comments (21)This is all amazing! What a great community you all are! @btydrvn I really like the idea of the yellow door thank you! @Donald I agree with the lopsided look. If you can imagine, I actually removed about 50 feet of juniper behind that big bush. It was hugely lopsided. I think that after I do whatever needs to be done on the house, I will then take to landscaping! @Patricia Coleen Consulting I really like the idea of the cedar on the left side of our house and maybe that will help with the lopsidedness as well. Thank you! @Jennifer Hogan your place looks fantastic! Great Work! I hope that I will have as fantastic as a before and after photo as yours! I think the two tone photos looks great! @cat_ky yes totally agree with landscaping is required :) @Creative Visual Concepts, Kevin Strader I never thought about changing the railing which would definitely change the look! Thank you! Thank you for the Website link I will definitely check that out! @B T thank you yes I see what you mean about tying in to existing siding. I also really like the idea of the porch with light! @celerygirl Wow! I am not sure how you did that but it really helps! Yes I think the two tone will work out very well since being able to see it! and of course the landscaping! Very much appreciated!...See MoreHelp! Need to decide exterior paint asap! Looking for mock ups to help
Comments (22)Thank you Celerygirl for all of the mock ups....they are so appreciated! I['m still unsure at this point but what are your thoughts on shutters? Also, what is the closest Sherwin Williams color to your suggested Benjamin Moore Timber Wolf? I tried to google it with no success. I'm still so torn, Granite Peak was always my top but maybe a Gray is what I should go with? I literally can't sleep with this hanging over my head but I'm going to try, and probably like in the past, I'll dream of color and paint yet again! jck910 & katinparadise - I so appreciate your feedback too. Do you know what Sherwin Williams paint color is closest to BM Storm by chance? When you mentioned the blues weren't resonating with you, can you be more specific on the paint samples I have on my house? I wasn't sure if you were looking solely at the mock ups or those as well? (And I know have some dark blues in there) as well as some lights, the one on the left up top (Poolhouse) is my fiance's favorite but it's been a NO for me almost immediately. LOL Thank you all again, and please respond if/when you can, I greatly appreciate it. I don't know if I have to give the painter the answer tomorrow morning though I'm hoping I have until late afternoon....fingers crossed! Until tomorrow, good night!...See Moreplease help! we have an exterior that desperately needs help please
Comments (8)Hillary, I am not a professional so I try to think of things that could be done by a homeowner on their own without spending a lot of money. If the grids in your doors cannot be painted then I would paint the door white. I would trim the tree so that the trunk is viable. Evaluate plants to determine if they should be relocated. It is not attractive to cover the lower windows. Plant something attractive and flowering near the door. Grow grass in the small bed at the end of the landing. The entrance will have a cleaner look with that bed gone. Any plants you choose for the center of the foundation should say low....See MoreIn desperate need of help deciding on roof and exterior paint color!
Comments (0)I'm getting a new roof (thanks, hail!) and would love to part with the hideous brown shingles and exterior (see below). I'm looking for a good roof + exterior paint combo that fits a mid century vibe (the home was built in 1950 and has a very mid century vibe inside that I've kept original). The outside is not so mid century? But I want the house to be cohesive. The colors I use on the inside are predominantly charcoal gray, teal, aqua, white and yellow (if that matters). Heres a pic from the garage perspective as well: Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you! :)...See MoreMichelle Trask
