My children came wearing masks, while keeping their social distancing, surprised me for Mother’s Day! Although we ate lunch in my garage, far apart the in fresh air, using disposable dishes and without our usual hugs, I was overjoyed to the point of tears. I was blessed with three beautiful bouquets of flowers and they took my “to do” list and divided and conquered it all. Today has reassured me that I have survived in the past and with God’s Grace and the love of family, I will get through this time also.

Comments (2)Becky, you have a warm growing hard cane Dendrobium. Where they grow in nature they would never "encounter a cold front". Some orchids readily make keikis, others only do so if stressed. No idea about the weather in your part of the world, but you might get better help if you give the locals some idea of your growing conditions, seeing you are heading into winter which might mean that you have to move your orchid, add lighting and so on....See MoreHAPPY MARDI GRAS 2020! ⚜️⚜️
Comments (18)We here in the Tampa Bay Area have what's called the Gasparilla Pirate Festival which includes a parade in late January. (It's mainly a money-making thing for all the snowbirds that are still here.) It's been going on for over a century. When I was a kid my grandma lived on a street that the parade went down and we saw it for several years in a row. But when my son got to be old enough to know what was going on I took him and couldn't believe what was going on. I vowed not to take him back. People were acting as if it was Mardi Gras and I'm talking broad daylight flashing and heavy drinking/drug activity. They finally started having a separate parade day for the children because a lot of families refused to go anymore. So I don't have anything against people who want to hoop and holler and act up in adult fashion but not around the kids....See More
