I'm bumping this back up because I've been thinking about scaling back. We are reno'd out after our kitchen, and now bogged down with painting nearly every room in the house. We also have to take out some carpet and install hardwood. The thing I hate the most is the sink right across from the toilet. We do use the bathroom at the same time, but there is barely enough room for toilet and sink use simultaneously. Plus, I hate having a mirror right across from the toilet. So, I'm thinking of keeping the vanity as a single vanity, 48", but moving the sink closer to the shower. Then we'd put tall cabinets across from the toilet for towels, toiletries, etc., which we currently keep out in the hall closet. Though I still worry about the huge size discrepancy between the bedroom and bathroom.

In my last home my entire family room and kitchen were painted SW CG and my master bathroom was SW SS. BOTH looked very blue in that space. In my new home I had a bedroom done SWSS. In this space it looks very GREEN. Its a beautiful color but I had thought it would be more blue. These two colors are very much affected by light and by yellow light. It completely changes them. I did the master bath in this home in SW Tradewind and I love it! There are so many colors of similar character to go with. A really really pretty color is VALSPAR SEA SALT BLUE. I think you need to make sample boards and try them out and decide of you want more blue more green or more gray. Excuse the paper shades on the window but this is the Tradewind in my new bath. Sea Salt in last home Comfort gray in last home Sea Salt in this home Another color that was a big contender you may want to look at is SW Silver Strand.

Continuing the edge combe grey into the bedroom and bath would give you a brighter room and a neutral backdrop to tie the spaces together. Then your art and linens would add the color which you could easily change. You could pick a shade darker off the paint chip if you didnt want the hall, bath and bedroom all the exact same grey. Do use bright or saturated hues in decor if you paint the walls all neutral.

You may want to start saving inspiration rooms you love; it will really help if you have a direction. I would purchase the rug fist vs bedding and cushions so you have a style to build on. Be sure to use various colors, patterns and textures so it feels more interesting The headboard is high and I think art above each night stand would be more complimentary and use small brass lamps for a modern look. You could add the sign on another wall If you need a bedskirt, a more tailored style would feel more modern Dresser and tv wall - mirror, plant, chair, art, baskets
