Does anyone have a ThermaTru Patio Door (French Door)?
Comments (11)Its a smooth star double entry door- link below. I was planning on adding the multipoint locking system. Note- this is for a deck entrance from the kitchen and not onto the patio...not sure if that make a difference with sill height you mentioned? Comments (8)coffeehaus - what type of "locking system" do you have? I didn't know Thermatru sold locksets - thought you always had to buy those separately. We have a Thermatru FiberClassic door. I ordered it prefinished but builder didn't. I stained it myself, didn't come out too badly except I should have worn a hairnet b/c I got hair in the stain and you can't touch up the door after the stain has dried. the few little spots I nicked I had to dab stain on with a toothpick, artist's brush didn't even work. Sorry, hadn't put the knob back on for this pic (was going to change HW but I have to interior side of door first - that's going to be a Honey Maple to match interior doors). Closeup of grain (with a piece of my interior trim - colors don't work together!)...See MoreFiberglass entry doors in central Florida, Plastpro or Therma Tru
Comments (2)My opinion Therma Tru would be the lowest I would go on the food chain. I would seriously consider Provia at the very least for your front door....See MoreJeld-Wen, ThermaTru Fiberglass or Provia Steel Entry Door
Comments (1)No question Provia makes the best doors whether it's steel or fiberglass. I don't think I have ever replaced an old Provia, but I have certainly replaced nearly every other brand including the cheap doors people foolishly buy from hardware stores. I'm kind of surprised you can't afford the painted Heritage Fiberglass Provia Door. It's a little more than the 20 gauge smooth steel, but not that much more. Have you looked at the texture steel Provia? My advice would be to get another estimate from a different Provia dealer. Don;t settle for second best when it comes to your doors. You will never be sorry for buying quality products....See More- 4 years ago
