This room would actually be used as a study/craft room for me. We plan on living here for a number of years and do not see this room being used for any other purpose. (tween-age kids!) The downstairs has a complete guest suite - attached full bath in addition to a powder room for guests. The actual bathroom ( in the picture) will be used solely by my son. Hmmm desk space might work... I was wondering if anyone here has encountered a bathroom that opened to the bedroom. I saw maybe one picture when I did a google search. Perhaps I need to reword my search.

Hi Bee, I don't have one myself but I did recently Google images of J&J's for someone else and I was amazed at how many layout diagrams there were! Some of them were very cool so that might be a idea to start you off.

Queen of the bathroom!!! ha ha ha ha...gee thanks. This bathroom is our one and only...not easy to remodel with a family of 4 let me tell ya. The wall tile is Hakatai Ashland 1"x1" in Burnt Amber. The floors are 4"x4" red limestone with the glass inserts. The granite was the biggest pain. They wouldn't split the slab so we had to buy the whole thing. Only needed less than 1/3 of the slab. So what do you do with a big piece of rock? You beg your other half to build a piece of furniture! His first one. I think he did a great job :o) A note about the paperface tile: It came in 1'x1' sheets, but because of the weight I sliced them into 6"x6" manageable pieces. The first few sheets I had the thinset squishing through too, but knew I'd never finish having to scrape the groutlines out. So started to backbutter the tile instead...sped things up immensely. I'm assuming from what the OP said that they don't want or need hall access to a bathroom that one of the bedrooms isn't going to be used as a bedroom. I also LOL at how home builders are so overspecific in naming the rooms on their floorplans. Like everyone wants a game room in the middle of all the bedrooms and home office, just the thing to ensure a good night's rest or undistracted working at a desk. One small item I find really irksome in this floorplan: the door to the master bathroom toilet room is ideally positioned to (a) block the entry from the bedroom when open, which it assumedly would be when not in use, and (b) whack the person using the sink when unexpectedly opened from inside. Also, that door to the upper left bedroom is a weird one. Perhaps to keep it from blocking access to the J&J bathroom when open, it's hinged on what would otherwise be the wrong side. As it is, especially since the bedroom closet extends further than the door opening, the door must be opened an awkward 180 degrees to enter the bedroom from the hallway.
