Help us choose new exterior colors!

Here is our mid-70s house. Let me first say that a new driveway and roof are on our radar. That said, we’re also looking to refresh the colors.

The brick is reddish-brown (not too bright), the second floor is a yellowish cream stucco and the framing is a rich, dark chocolate brown. We think it looks dark and dated and we really don’t like how the cream stucco clashes with the white windows (although you can’t really see the extent of it in this photo). The sides and back of our house are all chocolate brown like the framing, with cream stucco on the back. It all looks so, blegh.

We would love a modern take on this. We’re considering a dark gray where the stucco is, and perhaps a white garage door. Do we keep the framing on the top half? Should we paint it white to match the garage door, or would that make it too busy? We feel the framing adds a nice design element to an otherwise basic facade, and it was one of the reasons we were attracted to the house. We’re drawn to neutral colors in general, but obviously red brick can be tricky. Any suggestions welcome!

We like the look of this:

And yes, we’ve considered painting the brick but we really feel compelled to keep the integrity of it intact.

One final question: does anyone know what our style of house would be called?
