Help with coordinating house paint colors

4 years agoWith Baby Fawn and Pure White the world is your oyster. There are few colors that don't work well with beige and white.
To make a home cohesive you want something that ties each room to the next. Generally I keep my wall colors softer, more subdued and use fabrics, art and accents to bring in additional color, but you don't have to have all neutral walls and definitely don't have to have every room painted with one neutral color.
Think of it like you coordinate a mix and match wardrobe. Tan skirt, white belt, what color shirt would you wear?
Your home should reflect the colors that you love, so telling you what colors to add is difficult without knowing you.
I like the website http://paletton.com to help visualize color combinations. It is a a color wheel where you can enter a color code and play with different combinations of color to figure out what you like. Often helps get someone started down a good path.
I plugged in the color code for baby fawn and pulled a couple of screen shots.Got the color code from EasyRGB.com - also gives you some palette choices.

Comments (2)Sorry, no picture. Yes, stardust was the color that was suggested, but to my eye, it doesn't seem to go with the Oak Ridge at all. They look terrible together on the "viewer" on BM's site that lets you see the colors together on various surfaces. Comments (3)From these photos, the house looks dark. You might want to do offwhite walls with slight beige undertones. Taupe are tricky. Some have brown undertones and some have red undertones. So the light in the home effects how colors look as well. If you are doing the brick and trim white I would consider doing a tint of white only. There are about a thousand whites. Maybe more. Comments (0)I love this nimbus gray (blue) color and plan to have our entry way which is very tall (salt box/5 windows) painted with it as an accent color. I really wanted to stick with a light neutral gray for the remainder of the house but don't want it to feel too cold. I know tan/beige coordinates better than gray but could I get away with this gray (crushed ice)? Or any other suggestions? Thanks...See More

Do you know what colors make your heart sing?
When I look through the things I have bought and things that I love there are a couple of themes.
My closet shows that I own a lot of really clean bright colors that I wear in the summer (coral, lime, fuchsia, lemon yellow) and I also own a lot of purples, teals, deep reds, jeans, some white, cream, black, gray, no tan or brown and more taupe, white and cream than any other neutral. Yes I have a more colorful wardrobe than many.
If I look at the things I treasure (art, vases, things) I see that my affinity for purples, reds, teals is obvious.
In my home I have slate flooring in my foyer, which is purple/red/green slate (one of the things I fell in love with when I bought the house).
When I picked the flooring, tile, paint colors for the rest of the house I worked with the things that I own and the things that I love to select colors.
I am still renovating, so I am tweaking things as I go, but here is the picture of color selections with my flooring and art.

I like these colors with your colors.
You should always test in your own space, computers are not great for color accuracy.
