Comments (19)olychick, thank you for taking a look. :) I'm relieved to hear you think a white shower pan is best. I am heading out now to find porcelain marble look tiles for the shower walls to pick up the gray as you suggested. I want a shiny finish to the walls. Tell me if you think that's a misstep. I am avoiding marble as I have a marble topped vanity now that is pock marked with etchings. As far as seeing myself in the vanity, yes, I think I will be able to do so. I was planning on a black framed mirror spanning the vanity. My current vanity is 32 1/4" high (as will be the new vanity) and when seated on my vanity stool my reflection is seen up to my chest. The only issue currently is that my knees are pressed against drawers. I failed to mention that I was thinking of using absolute black granite for the vanity top for two reasons: one being cost and the other being to avoid etching. Will doing so deviate too much from my inspiration? Lastly, I had the idea of applying pieces of beveled mirror framed by black molding floor to ceiling along the back wall and continuing behind the toilet (similar to this only floor to ceiling with the exception of base molding & crown): [Traditional Bathroom[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-bathroom-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_712~s_2107) by Northbrook Architects & Building Designers Michael A. Comments (1)Do you have any photos of the space? I’m getting ready to update my master bath as well and have decided on an LED backlit mirror in addition to several can (recessed) LED lights for even more lighting. I’m big on makeup and want the best lighting as well. Not the prettiest but as far as my research goes the best. Go on Wayfair and search, there are quite a few with excellent reviews....See MoreBest lighting fixtures and placement for master bathroom?
Comments (3)Well, here in California, all the lights--traditional or modern--have to be LED. But I think you're asking more from a style perspective, yes? If you're planning to go more modern, the LED mirrors are nice, but personally I find them a bit clinical looking. I'd still go with modern sconces vs. LED mirrors....See MoreHelp with sizes for bathroom vanity light fixtures and mirrors!
Comments (8)Thank you so much for your help! We actually do need the tower for storage as the bathroom is not very big at all. It currently has a bulky built in linen closet on the left hand side of the vanity and the current vanity is even smaller (60") that my husband and I have shared for 10 years. So while I'd LOVE more counter space, even the extra 9" we are gaining feels like a lot for us. We put the tower on the right because it is next to the wall when you walk in the door which keeps it from being in the middle of the room breaking it up. It helps that the top part of the tower sets back on top about 6" from the facing of the lower cabinets to make it feel less intrusive. I am concerned that a 3-light fixture may make it feel more congested, but I just don't know as it seems there would be room for it.. Is more light better or would a 2-light be better for scale? I do love symmetry, and you have no idea how much it pains me to not have a perfectly symmetrical vanity.. But it really is the best option for the space due to how tight the bathroom is as a whole. The tub is directly in front of the vanity (about 4.5' walking space) which also sits in front of a window providing a lot of natural light in the room....See Morewdccruise
