Help with light fixtures for Master Bathroom

Hello!

We recently purchased our first home and while there are many things we love about it, one thing we do not love are the light fixtures in the master bathroom. :-)

We are planning to replace the overhead fixture with two recessed lights. For the wall sconces on the sides of the mirrors, we are hoping to raise the lights so they are higher on the wall. In addition, we'd like to replace the current scones with the Flea Market sconce. However, we are wondering whether folks think they are too big given the size of the wall / mirror. Based on measurements, there will be 1" of clearance between each sconce and the wall / mirror. Will they look too smooshed in there? We are hoping not to have to replace the mirror. (Also, would you go with the chrome or chippy white color? Most of the fixtures in the bathroom are polished/antiqued nickel not a bright chrome.)

Alternatively, I really love these, but my fiancee says they are too feminine for our master bathroom -- any tips on how to convince him otherwise? :-)

(In case helpful, please note that we will be painting the walls in the bathroom as well, likely some kind of white for a fresh clean look.)

Thanks very much in advance!

PS: Please excuse the mess in these photos; we are still unpacking!
