Chandelier needed - 42" round table for eat in kitchen with view
Comments (18)20 inch..they apparently have some sales going on but I'm a bit confused what's on sale lol. check what they say there https://www.onekingslane.com/p/4666412-provisions-pendant-gray.do?refType=&from=fn&catnav=101407 (have it in white too) in general check their selection..prices wildly differ depending on a manufacturer..good store, but check their return policies etc-might vary here, 21 inch..but the bulb is 75 only-migh be ok..with this type of a pendant though you get very directed light..something to consider. I'd prefer more diffuse, for dining.. also it's gold..it's a nice gold, refined, but spells less barn, probably? https://www.onekingslane.com/p/4657948-agnes-large-pendant-gild.do?sortby=ourPicksAscend&page=4&refType=&from=fn&catnav=101407 ok..main idea-consider everything..besides a shape and size itself..will it give enough light? what will be that light? some people like lights turned down..I like lights turned up/to the sides... ah and whatever you decide-dimmer is always a great idea...See MoreFarmhouse table for eat-in kitchen instead of huge island?
Comments (5)I would narrow in : drop leaf and/or trestle style . Yes to the idea but particulars matter. Avoid table legs being in the way if possible.....drop leaf let's you be flexible with usage and space . You can have local woodworkers make you one exactly to your requirements. Do you have vintage places or craigs list you can search...sometimes you can find an old farmhouse table with the right top...and have a new base made/etc. This is a great way to put character in your space....See MoreNeed help with lighting fixture over eat-in kitchen table
Comments (12)I love all these ideas! And Beth I love how you photoshopped the fixture into my kitchen pic! That is really brilliant! You all are giving me some courage and hope! I was really worried I’d blown it by going to bold with the pendants over the island since my kitchen table is so close in proximity to island. So I think what I’m hearing and seeing is ok to go with different style as long as there’s some element that ties in with island pendants - like shape or finish. I kind of like the idea of tying into the round shape of metal rings that frame bottom of pendant shades. I think the contemporary round fixture with fabric shade fits that theme with the ring of metal surrounding top and bottom of shade. Also the clear glass pendant has similar metal rings on it. I really like the blue fixtures as well. Do you all agree that I should keep diameter of fixture on the small side since things in my kitchen are so close to one another? You guys are the best!...See MoreNew table for eat-in kitchen - what to do with old table?
Comments (18)I think we'll try Revivals first, and if they do not want it, then we will try Freecycle. If that does not work, I will try NextDoor. I have a NextDoor account for Palm Springs as well as one for Los Angeles, and I had to use two different email addresses to get two different accounts, but that is okay. I'm not fond of about half of the people on NextDoor here, and I wish they would not try to make it political. NextDoor seems to bring out the worst in people, which is why it would be my last resort. Also, I do not like the idea of strangers coming to my house. Revivals will pick up from my garage, but they will not come inside the house, which is okay. I think the furniture is too big to put out on the curb. I think the table and bar might be too big for bulky item pickup also, and it would just be scrapped if I had to go that route, and I do think that the furniture is perfectly usable still. The other option is putting it in the consignment store in Palm Springs. I think they would take it, but I would probably have to deliver it to them, and that would be a hassle. It is nicer than a lot of furniture that I saw there. I might send them photos of it and see what they say. Anyone have experience with sending things to consignment shops? I wouldn't care how long it took to sell, if it were at a consignment shop, since it would be out of my way....See More- 4 years ago
