Biggest orchid flower
Comments (5)>> Largest = Grammatophyllum speciosum That plant appears to be a vandaceous variety. If each individual flower is the biggest flower, then those spikes would be MASSIVE. There is a record for Paphiopediluum sanderianum being the "biggest" flower, but in my opinion it is cheating lol. It appears to be a regular sized flower with an insanely long "tail". I was thinking more along the lines of the overall proportion of the flower. There appears to be a consensus on the Platystele jungermannioides being the smallest flower though. Thanks for the info....See Moreit might be the beer talking...
Comments (9)i don't think habs and scotch bonnets are that hot, therefore i am growing yellow fires and nagas this year. wish me luck. Oh ya, try a Trinidad Scorpion! TheyÂll kill ya! i think the recommended spacing requirements on the back of the plant packets are baloney. Wow thereÂs instructions on the packages??? IÂll have a look once my vision clears up. square foot gardening is a great idea although many of the concepts put forth in mel's book are just common sense. Au contraire mon ami (how do you like my Spanish). I have found square foot gardening very effective. As long as you have 200  500 of those square feets stuck together. i hope my indian corn grows properly, my wife really wants to make corn dollies. Ok, IÂm worldly. Your wife likes "dollies" thatÂs ok by me. I envy you. My GF would be wanting corn pool boys. Not sure what Smokes "squeezins" are but they sound nice! who doesn't use special soil mixes? i just buy manure and topsoil and everything grows just right. I could never train the cows to go in the pots??? okay my pizza is ready now.... My fish sticks are ready. Ya, theyÂre gourmet....See Moreprofessional help
Comments (3)Suzi, architects are a lot like physicians and attornies, in that some are "specialists" and some are "generalists". The best tip may be to find architects who like and do the type/scale of work that the owner has in mind. Residential remodel work is quite different than, say, hospitals or correctional facilities. Or for that matter, the custom design of new single family homes. Remodeling architecture takes a lot more attention and time for analyzing, measuring and taking into account existing conditions. Compared to design of new homes, remodeling is much more labor intensive for both architects and builders. A good place to start is by contacting the closest office of The American Institute of Architects for referrals. Good luck with your project....See MoreJust thinking...
Comments (30)We have always crate trained and no free reign of the house until a year old. I am not sure if it's the breed or what but our dogs (we are on #2 - lost #1 last fall) have never been destroyers. Daily walks were always our routine though - all seasons snow included and I think that helps. Unless it was pouring rain we were walking. We do have a back hall where the crate, food and water are and sometimes if gone for about an hour we will put the gate up (yes it's a baby gate) and give her run of that area and so far no problems. I came home one day when she was about 4 months old and she met me at the door - oh I was sweating it. I thought my son latched the crate and he hadn't - she kenneled because she knows the routine and it wasn't locked but swung shut enough that I thought she was secured. Anyhow - not a thing out of place and she was unattended for 5 hours. Because we have this nice back hall space we probably will not give her full run at a year but keep her 'on the tile' when we are gone. First one did swallow socks whole and loved to eat kleenex or tp if she could get to it but other than that - nada. My kids were 2 and 4 when we got her so the socks were small. As she grew and they grew she sometimes would steal a sock if we were gone and put it right in the middle of the living room floor to be sure we didn't miss it I guess? But at that point thankfully she stopped eating them! This little girl is 6 months old and so far no sock or kleenex issues but she did sneak into my sons room and decided to claim this beanie baby stuffed animal. They are so particular. She already has about 4 of her own but nope - she chose this one! She likes to nibble on it's long beak....See Moresleevendog (5a NY 6aNYC NL CA)
