When to transplant Surprise Lilies (Naked Ladies)?
Comments (25)I have had naked ladies in the spring, bright red Amaryllis in summer, loads of red Lycoris in late summer along with Iris and a few perinneals. Would love to post a picture of the Red Lycoris in full bloom, from my gallery on my phone but don't know how on here. Any suggestions? Also my naked ladies did wonderfully last spring, but only about half came up this year. Any reason for that? The only thing I can think of is that I had an invasion of snails and slugs, finally got rid of them and now have little frogs, which are great and Anoli lizzards (geckos) and they eat all the bad stuff. How do I encourage the naked ladies to come back? They were multiplying then only about half came up this year??? Help!...See Moreasiatic lilies when to transplant??????
Comments (1)Lift the bulbs in late September or early October and then replant ASAP. This is the time of year that I would rejuvenate the bed, here in Minneapolis. Since you are in zone 5, you might be able to lift the bulbs a little later than the dates I have given above. Just make sure you have somewhere to plant all of the extra bulbs or that you have people you can give/sell the extra bulbs to. Mike...See MoreYellow Trout Lily from Alabana

My neighbor had dug up a bunch last year and they were out in the full blast heat with no dirt inside a can with a lid for about a week and she mentioned she had forgotten to put them out with the trash and I asked for them. stuck em in a pot and a week later they were a foot tall, lol....See MoreRelated Professionals
