How has distancing affected your relationships

I can't be the only one who has people in their life that don't seem to comprehend the importance of distancing and are, therefore hurt by the distancing.
My parents do not take this as seriously as they should, they were spouting the whole "no worse than the flu" nonsense a few weeks ago.
We live next door to my parents, our backyards are split by a chain link fence. My mom still watches my nephews (4 years old and 18 months old) every day of the week.
They are small children and don't understand why they can't play with their cousins. My mom and dad are upset, hurt and confused and think this is all being overblown, my brother shares their sentiment and is angry at me for not allowing physical interaction.
To be clear, we still speak in person most days of the week, albeit from my yard/her yard, but I don't let the kids play together, my kids aren't allowed to go give Nana a hug or go to Nana's house.
My parents also still meet up with their other friends on occasion, as does my brother.
They are angry with me for distancing them because they think this is all no big deal and I'm upset with them ignoring science.
I can't be the only one dealing with this. How has it affected you? How do you communicate with them and help them understand why you are doing this and why it's important for all of us to do it?
