Fixings areas of hardwood floor without stain

Anthony Dines

Three years ago when we bought our house, we had the floor redone. At the time, two of our closets had built-in shelves and support columns.

We are currently in the process of remodeling all our closets. After pulling out the previous closet systems we have some areas that weren't stained -- where the shelves and bypass door guides previously were.

Question -- How would you suggest we fix these areas that weren't stained? Do smaller spot fixes just to these areas? Re-sand and refinish larger areas, like the entire interior of the closet floor?
