?? Perennial Swap - Denver Area ??
Comments (30)Hi JLynn, If you mean would I be willing to hang onto some plants you could bring early until the swap, yes, Id be glad to do that, but am I missing something in the translation? You say youre in Cheyenne monthly, but Im in Denver. What am I missing? Do you get down to Denver? And are you thinking of the Spring Swapif it happensor the summer/fall swapwhich Im going to do my best to make happen? If youre able to get something down here, Id be glad to give you some of my unrooted groundcover sedums if youd like. That way youd at least get something back for whatever you bring. And if its more than a month from now, I may have some Dendranthema/Chrysanthemum (whatever genus theyre using these days) Sheffield Hillside Pink, or some Hopleys Purple ornamental oregano, rooted that I just stuck when I was cleaning up my plants. Or I could give you some of my seeds, but I could find something. Just let me know if youre thinking of some way to get things down to Denverand about when. Wish you lived closer, Skybird P.S. Do you know windwhipped is up there in Casper with you!...See MoreWhat am I missing? A Social distancing question
Comments (54)The 15-day plan refers to this from the CDC. It seemingly relies on collective cooperation, which is not occurring. My state first shut down colleges and universities (which made sense because kids were going to/coming back from spring break). Next, they shut down k-12 schools, which initially made no sense when the news the next day showed revelers out at bars and restaurants at pre-St. Pat celebrations. Personally, I didn't understand why we were closing schools but allowing families to hang out in McDonald's playlands and go to libraries, etc. Our governor announced a statewide closing of bars and restaurants the Sunday before St. Pat's, and then less than a week later, our current stay-at-home orders. It's too early to tell based on numbers here, but the goal is to lessen the spread, especially since we are now learning about more infections among first-responders. If the spread slows, it's because of the responsible actions of many. But any continued spread--especially after about 2 weeks from now--will likely be the result of those who have not been following the recommendations in place. I battled this with my kids last weekend, who wanted to go out and visit old friends who are now in town. I told each of them outright: you are not an essential worker, and you don't need to go out for essential supplies... Just Stay Home. There are many people who are making sacrifices for the greater good. You are not an exception to the rules....See MoreHappy (social distancing) Easter!

Comments (16)May I add, as a sort of PSA: Regarding social distancing in grocery stores, I ask that everyone please be courteous of everyones TIME as well as personal space. For example, if you want someone to stay 6 feet away, you need to keep it moving. Get your stuff and MOVE. Especially if there are multiple people in that same aisle, waiting for you to move because they want to abide by the guidelines. If you want me to keep my distance, then don't stand in a aisle, 2 feet away from what i need, and friggin him-haw around, comparing labels and prices and taking an online poll about one item over the other, chit chatting on your phone and otherwise camping out in my way. Or if you do, keep that nasty look to yourself when i DO get within 2 feet of you to get what i need. Or look in a mirror and give that look to yourself. I have to get to work lady, move your butt or get over it. I am moving mine. Watch how easy it is, just watch: *puts one foot in front of the other over and over, grabbing the items i want as i go* OR If you are in a grocery store that has implemented one-way aisles, its not anything less than obnoxious for you and your shopping companion to park your carts in the middle of the aisle, side by side so no one can get through, and proceed to huddle up together 6 feet away from said carts, taking pictures of cans of cat food for some reason. Perhaps sending them to someone else that you are shopping for? Maybe you are scanning the labels for one of those point giving apps? How nice. Move your carts donkeys. Now i have to turn around and go the WRONG WAY to get out of that aisle, defeating the whole purpose because you're a doofus. Wow, that feels better. I should have out this in my "letter" thread. But it bears mentioning....See MoreDLM2000-GW
