Kordes Summer Romance turned into a climber now?
Comments (32)Very very interesting!! When I posted the above, I copied it in case it didn’t work. Sure enough, it disappeared when I hit the submit icon. So I pasted it in again, and took out the name of one of the roses .. the one called sexy rexy could this possibly be some weird form of censorship?? just experimenting .. trying again with the full name in...See MoreSummer Romance...
Comments (3)I love both of those! My Summer Romance hasnt bloomed all that much this year but when it does, its pretty. I planted a bunch of those Kordes roses like SR and First Crush etc. in a crazy spot behind the dryer vent where they also get full sun and rain water runoff from the roof. They really enjoy it. Not too much disease in the situation, surprisingly. I keep meaning to get Key West Rock Rose. Its so pretty! I love the creamy blushy tones. Plus, I could plant it next to my crazy eclectic Key West Chicken Coop that I am currently redoing lol....See MoreLa Rose de Molinard or Summer Romance
Comments (17)Summer romance is a beautiful rose with an incredible scent and perfect health here. It is not a rounded bush, it throws upright long canes. It is way taller than 4x4 in zone 7b. Amazing spring flush and sporadic blooms the rest after two years in the ground. It would be magnificent if it decided to rebloom well, but so far not. So far Fiji and Madame Anisette both have required over 3 years here before rebloom omg well. I will get give SR another year to see if rebloom improves before deciding if it deserves the space in the garden....See MoreFloribunda Rose - Summer Romance (2nd year)
Comments (7)Sumera your plant looks great. In my experience this plant needs a good size before blooming much. I would of course check in case you have midge or something that is preventing her from blooming at all. I have had my plant for 4 years and I just started pruning it heavily (more than half its size). It was a big plant at Lowe’s when I first got it so this is probably 6 years old. I would be patient and give it a few years. Carol thank you very much! I absolutely love this rose and I am hoping it will rebloom well this year. Vapor I do think that pruning it very hard helped make it more bushy. I am also planning on pruning it hard after this flush to see if I get good rebloom which I haven’t gotten before. The blooms are huge and very very fragrant here. I only have the one plant because a rose that won’t rebloom is just not something I really want in my garden. If this one starts to consistently rebloom it would be perfection. It stays clean clean of any disease here all season long....See MoreLynn-in-TX-Z8b- Austin Area/Hill Country
