Need help picturing layout
Comments (2)You're looking at photos of the space. Do you see a big tv, or a man sized recliner? That's the problem. Draw the apartment to scale on 1/4" ( equals a foot) graph paper. Cut templates of furniture that represent yours. Couch, recllner, dining table....etc Push the furniture around ON PAPER. .......... And you may need to locate a narrow dining table and chairs near the ENTRY. Ignore how the spaces are labeled...See MoreHow would you furnish a small kitchen/living/diner?
Comments (1)Your plan seems pretty good to me I might consider going with a round table-easier to manuever around (bonus if it has additional hidden leaf to make it oval. just in case you have a larger company) But overall- good plan, really (I hope coffee table will get put closer to sofa irl, I understand now it's only computer rendering. I'd also push a bit closer or angle the chair a bit, for same purposes-closer conversational area, easy to reach things/talk to people, less blocking the passage. ) Congrats on your move! Exciting!...See MoreHow do you furnish a small room that is a living room/kitchen combo?
Comments (4)You gotta draw it on graph paper, and then cut out pieces the size of an apartment couch, etc., and move them around. My first idea is couch facing windows with a cafe table behind the couch, and TV in the corner. You could also try couch floating with it's back to the fridge wall and bedroom hallway, and a TV on the bottom wall with a dropleaf table there too (chairs on left and top sides). It might be more flexible to try arranging 2-3 small armchairs instead of a couch, as easier to allow walkways and still have a conversational arrangement possible......See MoreHow would you furnish this huge coast living room?
Comments (10)A floor plan should be your first step, with exact measurements, etc. Find a good on line room planner and experiment with different configurations, based on how you want room to function. You won’t know what room can handle until this is done and until you have determined your needs, ie: couches, sectionals, and chair combinations. Two identical sized seating areas grounded by two rugs. Or each side different Or a really large area with a smaller intimate space Would you like seating by window, a place to nap, does a tv need to be considered, etc Once you have layout figured out, there will be all the other decisions. Size of furniture, best fabrics for your lifestyle, accessories, etc. It may be worth hiring someone and with the discounts they benefit from, it may be worth it if you are buying for the whole room from scratch...See MoreErin Hawver
