design dilemma with floors
Comments (9)Vinyl flooring has a self-life of 18 months. That means if you want to get more of the same product to replace the laminate you have to buy it ALL AT ONCE or you will have the same problem...in reverse. If your current living/kitchen flooring is still in "OK" shape, I would suggest you gather enough finances to do it all at once. We've seen DOZENS and DOZENS of Houzzers complain, "Help! Home Depot Discontinued my vinyl/laminate/etc! Now I can't complete my home". Honest. I'm also a bit concerned about putting 'wood look' product in areas where STONE or TILE is normally seen. The problem comes when you discover you can't purchase more of the same and NOW you have a big issue because you don't want to do 'fake wood' up against 'fake wood'. But the living room will look weird in a stone/tile look vinyl...so now what do you do? Purchase everything right now....or wait to do it all at once....See MoreOpen Floor Plan Design Dilemma for Kitchen/Living/Dining Area

Comments (4)Show your space, I see no reason to do that . A wonderful rug in your family room will "sparate" spaces. Nine times out of ten, you will complicate life and install. Your inspo is a 150,000 kitchen, and it seems no separation..............from anything via the floor : ) Don't buy trouble, is my point....See Moredesign dilemma - bathroom floors
Comments (8)Grays are notoriously difficult to match, so be sure you see your samples side by side (and thus in the same lighting). If they match tonally, that should work. I guess you're using that large slab on all the actual walls, not just the shower walls? don't forget shower floor tiles if there's not a tub in this bath -- they need to be small....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
