To keep myself busy, I've been starting seeds and repotting. When I dumped the old soil out of a pot from last year, I found the strangest looking tubers with roots starting to grow. I'm not even sure tuber is the right word. They are articulated like a (and similar in size) catkin or asparagus tip. The only thing I can think that they might be is some sort of begonia, but I'm not having any luck googling similar pictures.

I've replanted them and, I guess, I will know soon enough what they are, but I'm impatient and wondering if anyone has any idea what they could be.
