There is an old iron spiral planter, and spent $50 on these
Comments (19)All, thanks for all the helpful input. I'm glad that in the process of getting my questions answered, others have gotten ideas. Remember, people, I only bought the bench and the red plow, I have a white milk can in the garage, tumbled morning glories over it last year. I just posted the other photo so you could see how pretty she had part of her yard. The lady with the sale is the one with the talent for putting stuff together like that, she painted it all up, I hated to see her have to take down that pretty display and part with some of the pieces. And I'm not such a good friend as some of you think because we had had a falling out last year, and I hadn't been speaking to her, but when she so obviously was stressed out to the max and needed the help, decided let bygones be bygones. I wish I could help more people, but I can't or I won't get anything done for myself plus I don't have that much stamina and have to pace myself just on my own projects. I do what I can when I can for people, mostly little helps here and there. OK, $15 sounds like a fair price if she will accept that. I won't be too fussy about the rust, and if something goes wrong with that deal, I can't have everything that catches my fancy....See MoreA cumulatie case of the willies, and is there a word in English
Comments (21)Mere, glad to read the good news. I know you have to be stressed about the whole situation, how could you not be? I doubt you are the 1st to need a cool cloth; anyone having to have a biopsy would be stressed. I would think that anyone with a family history; well all the more stress. To go in for a procedure to see if it registers the "big C" well that in itself would make anyone puke. Now that I can put off the actual surgery I probably will till after that. It depends on what all it involves and recuperation, really. It can't be much, so we'll see. Did you ever get to check out the cure magazine site? I wonder if you have other options. I remember reading about one breast cancer study where they were given a drug that worked. Might be worth the time to look into. The article would have been from the time dad was sick - July 2005 to January 2006. I seem to remember it as a fall issue - so Fall 2005. I might still have it but it's packed in a rubbermade with dad's stuff....See MoreBacksplash Pattern - 50 words or less with pix
Comments (16)Sorry bmorepanic... I'll mock up yours later :) I know I'm mixing materials like crazy but I am finding it easier and easier to play with design concepts with Sketchup. Wish I'd tried it earlier in the project. All you have to do is create a jpeg out of tile found on a website and... Counters are Torquay quartz, so some resemblence to marble. I've reached out to my AS salesperson (many samples received to date) for info on the honeycomb. I can't quite figure out coloring - the tile displayed is an off white tile, but the coloration is definitely caramel-y... wonder if you pick that too? Pricing appears to be less than $30 which is in the ballpark. What would you do for a shelf? I sort of like the SS in the AS photo. rococogurl - I'm pleased as punch, so happy you suggested this option. Will be back for color input I'm sure eventually. Do you have any inspiration pictures of the green, by any chance? By Moroccan, do you mean arabesque? Love them, but immediately think of Bee; it's her tile in my mind :)...See MoreWords, Words, Words...
Comments (49)Wood - Glad you are enjoying the wonderful "Child/Forest" book. My library has the prettiest edition of this, and I donated the other two in the trilogy, but have a strong feeling they went into the FoL book sale instead of on the shelves which I had intended to make up the trilogy for other people. As for the adding of the "-ie" sound to words in English, that is quite common even now. "Brekkies" - breakfast "Sarnies" - sandwiches "Prezzies" - presents/gifts Also, there used to be a penchant for reducing some names to "-az" such as: Sharon --> Shaz or Shazzer Barry --> Baz or Bazzer Des --> Dezzie This might just be my group of friends though... We had a mixed bunch (social class speaking) and I think this shortening was a lower class trend... I could be mistaken as it may vary in other regions......See Moremsmeow
