Can you do a rug that fills the whole area, instead of a runner? Not necessarily wall to wall, just larger than the runner.

I have a 5' x 8' in my 7' x 13' foyer, with doorways that aren't the same size and aren't directly across from each other, and it looks fine (at least in my opinion). I tried to do a 6' x 6' because of the doorways and the 5' x 8' was much better.

I can get a 5 x 7 which would only leave 3 inches on each side - do you think that would look okay?

can you borrow a 5x7 from somewhere else in your house to put there and see? Or fold a blanket into that size as a mockup.

This rug is 5' 2" x 7. Ruggable would be exactly 5' x 7.

I think I would want it to only come to the first doorway, not 7' like the moose rug. What is that measurement? And then move the table a tad closer to the door, so the rug edge would show. Just a thought.

The larger rug gives your entry more of a sense of 'entry'.

I usually like larger but of the two rugs, I think the smaller looks a little better. The strong directional graphic on the moose rug makes the entry look a little lopsided.

Look at the difference when you use a larger rug with a less distinct pattern.

IMO no matter size it needs to be at the door or really it serves no purpose .

Thanks! I just put the moose rug there to show how a 5x7 would fit in that space. I would probably get a 5x7 more along the lines of these:

From the door to the hallway corner is 6.5 feet

From the door to the end of the wall the cabinet is against is 1” shy of 6 feet

I like the patterns but I think your entry would look more grounded and inviting with a more colorful rug.

I wouldn't waste too much time concentrating on the size. Even within a specific brand and pattern, an individual rug might be off a couple of inches. If the rug is pretty no one will notice.
