I found a picture online of her wire- it looks like it’s not fabric... is this okay to wrap and hang from the bracket?

I had bought these to hang above the island and didn’t realize they were plug in until it was too late. So now these are hopefully going to be above my nightstands.

Is that your pendant in the picture you posted last? Or some kind of example? I can't tell whether the extra thin wire is meant for hanging it or for something else.

If it's moderately heavy, and having a cut glass globe suggests that it is, I'd hesitate to hang it by the power cable. If it's fairly light, it should be OK.

I'd say "check with the manufacturer," but most likely this is a one-off imported item and that won't be possible. The manufacturer is probably somewhere in Asia and unreachable, and the US distributor probably knows nothing about it except what it looks like and how much profit they make on it.

Also make sure it's UL approved. A lot of no-name imported fixtures aren't. Some are outright hazardous.

Almost all of the west elm pendant come pre wired with cords. You can cut the plug off the end and hard wire it- works fine. You just need to buy a canopy kit (this is presuming you want to go back to plan A)

Got it! Thanks-I emailed West Elm yesterday to ask if their current pre-wired canopies could be used with my existing lights. I don’t love my current lights over the island, so that might be a good idea. I have 3 of them so I wanted to try the bracket idea, but don’t want to start a fire!

Depending on the cost of the change and installation ..i would ask the electrician if the quality is equal to pendants meant to be installed permanently...
