I Just Realized Something

We haven't had a telemarketing/scammer/robo call for three days. We usually receive several per day. Odd how that coincided with people being ordered to shelter in place/stay home, etc.

Whatever the reason, I'm definitely enjoying the peace and quiet.

I wish I could say that. But I did think of something else weird. How come we never hear anything about the coronavirus in India???

CHIGGERS! The invisible eat and runners that don't really run. A nice big bottle of peroxide, a good scrubbing with soap to make sure they're really gone (microscopic skin lice..the 'welts' are an allergic reaction to their 'saliva')Hubbs has been bringing them home from work like crazy from all the grass growth and rainfall. We've been washing clothes like it's going out of fashion. Leaf cutters. Oh yeah, it's fun for your roses to look like swiss cheese - not. Leaf spot. I have battled all season, screw the organic I'm playing for keeps. I do avoid the insecticides though. Just fungicide, since it's a little more user friendly. I've topped off my season with loosing a tree to Io Moth Caterpillars, which not only strip a tree in a week when you get a large colony, but they STING. Moving eating stinging machines. I tried bacterial worm spray but it was too late. They were headed for my roses. I got out my pruning shears and cut over 100 worms about the size of my index finger in half. I've got the fire ant leprosy look alike feet, which with a barefoot gardeners tan really looks strange. I've discovered stings on your fingers are ooooohhh so much worse than other places, my whole hand swelled up like the michelin man after a sting under my wedding ring. I'm starting to notice the really 'good' ones inspire a somewhat 'arthritic' joint pain under the sting. I've got more grubs than I know what to do with, and have come to take pleasure from putting them on the hot sidewalk in the sun when I find them. When that doesn't work they get finished off with the shovel. Building mounds for plants is making me insane. 6-10" down, ROCK!

They look the same and likely self seeded from a nearby hosta. ==>>> junko probably didnt mean what he said.. since independent seedlings are not the same ... and i dont know how you verify they are pieces of some old whole.. or two different seeds ... did you dig out some other named hosta?? .. if not.. then its an un named seedling... may end up being a nice hosta ... but dont go asking for an ID ... if a hosta dry or crown rots ... and the crown rots away.. frequently ... you will have have a bunch of small plants.. all from the momma.. that look just like this ... but when you dig it.. you would have seen the old rotted crown .. so you could assume they are all the same ... ken

Hi ladies! Thanks for thinking of the ornaments. Unfortunately, the last 2 parties have been gift exchanges. You know the kind, you roll dice and swap presents, steal, etc. Last year I took a quilted organizer that I made, it had 6 compartments and was quite popular in the stealing portion of the game. This year I made a set of 4 quilted placemats with matching coasters and napkins. These weren’t as popular. See the photo. I came home with a carbon monoxide detector. It’s a fun party, tho.

We've been getting a LOT of automated calls. No human intervenes, the call just hangs up.

Before 8 AM this morning, I was told I was receiving my last call to take advantage of lowering my credit card interest rate. I don't pay interest on credit cards and never have, I pay them in full monthly. Not that I bothered to tell that to the early caller, I only hung up.

I realized the same thing today, Dawn. Only 1 call from an unknown or unrecognized #.

Dawn, I was going to post the same thought the other day. There have been actual days when I don't get any calls at all, then like today, only one. It is really unusual.

ritaweeda other than there are people in India that have the virus I have not seen any reports of how bad it is there. I do know that it will be worse than here.

I just checked the Times of India and supposedly only 247 cases and all connected to travel. They are asking private hospitals to prepare for cases.

Iran, another early pocket of infection. We are hearing nothing about them. When these heavily populated countries like India don't have more cases you know they aren't testing.

I haven't had but a few robocalls this week but the # of scam ads showing up on face book page and which repeat every day is growing.
