Comments (15)She really is adorable. There are videos of her, I think, on the Cincinnati Zoo's website. She is very personable and played a lot with her caregivers when she was much smaller. She is too big now and could unintentionally hurt someone now just because of her size. She is also nationally famous! It wasn't certain that she would even survive so when she did and then thrived, it was thrilling. I have only seen her once and she was swimming around with her mom and she is like a child, playing and bouncing around in the water. I am restoring an antique, triple deck, shelf clock and this view of the Monticello is similar to the image that I have chosen to decorate the lower tier of the clock. The clock was made ca 1830 in northwestern New York State and the Monticello was completed before 1830. Tentatively, the decoration for the center tier of the clock will be a packet boat on the Erie Canal. One of the members of the family who owned this clock worked in a construction crew who built a feeder canal for the Erie. 6 years agoA very Plain Pink Peony . It came from the roots of the Peonies that grew for many, many years on this lot, a part of an old estate. The original plants were removed before the foundation was dug for our house, but before the lawn was put in, peonies were coming up everywhere. I saved just one.
It was in a perfect spot along the foundation. I planted everything else around it.. You can see it's pinkness in the plantings here.

6 years agoPurse. Her name is Dollie, pattern is by Swoon. She's a mere 6" tall and wide. For my 5 year-old granddaughter. Our weekly visits have come to a halt for a while, so I'll have to mail it to her.

My DIL sent me this picture of a pussywillows bush from her walk yesterday. Ours are still a week or two away.
6 years agoI'm late, but here is a Primo update. He is my latest kill pen save. This is when he came here Feb 5th. Beat up from the kill pen.
And this was made tonight. Not good pics, but he is looking better.
He is a very big horse. Hard to get a pic when he is in a stall, and he isn't very co-operative.
