Panic Buying.....

So...have you experienced the panic buyers? Are YOU one of them???!?!?!?!??? Do you even realize you are??
We get paid twice monthly, and I go grocery shopping twice monthly.
We live in the country and we are a family of 6 so I will freely admit that I may appear, to the average lay person, to be buying a lot. But I'm not.
On Friday, we got paid and it was grocery time so I went.
Sam's club looked like it was the zombie apocalypse. No paper goods of any kind, no beef and every single person I saw (yes I'm a silent basket/cart judger, so sue me) had at LEAST one case of water.
Water!! Water?!?!? Are you afraid the infrastructure will shut down to the extent that you won't be able to easily access clean drinkable water from your tap??!???
The stores were so crowded and it took so much longer than expected that I had to complete my grocery shopping AFTER picking up the kids from school.
Groan!! Talk about a nightmare!! Grocery shopping in over crowded stores with 4 kids on a Friday afternoon.
They got a first hand look at the insanity.
When I picked them up I explained that we still had grocery shopping to do and I was sorry.
I told them that I hadn't even been able to buy ground beef because all the stores were out.
My 11 year old said, "well, if we find some, we should get 2 or 3 packages" and I lost it.
I turned to her and I said, "No!!! That's exactly the problem!! That's what everyone is doing!! THAT is why the stores are out!"
Everybody is complaining about the panic buying and pretending like they aren't part of the issue....
Yet when they go to the store, they buy enough to last them a month or more when they don't normally because "they may not have it next time"
Ugh!!! Grr!!!
Seriously!!!
Yesterday, after school pick-up is when I realized that most of the country was operating on the same failed logic that my 11 year old was...
