New home construction - Acrylic paint for Garage floor - $850
Comments (7)8 Years ago I paid $4000 for epoxy in a 2 car garage. Though that did include a little concrete work. The epoxy held up very well. I would be concerned that acrylic paint would start to peel and that you would end up with a mess on your hands. As stated earlier, that sounds like the wrong product. Which is probably why it's cheap....See MoreNeed help picking neutral (whole) home interior paint color
Comments (101)Comedy of errors (only after we had a few drinks was it comedic) 1. We greatly underestimated the effort to paint textured walls, especially on the ceiling. That and we're 15 years older than many of the projects we've done the past. 2. Turns out we got the wrong color paint. I'm not sure why I had a different color paint stuck in my head and even though I checked color swatches I still got it wrong. And now that we're going to pay someone to do it I definitely want to make sure the color is right. Only after I came back to this post did I realize I gave the store the wrong color. We're going to suck it up and pay someone to do it which is good because that also includes trim and doors. Although now I have to take a week off of work. Good news: we can donate the paint to Habitat for Humanity ReStore....See Moreneed help with colors for whole new house
Comments (8)if you are determined to paint your house grey Now, read this article and it will set you straight. www.colorfullybehr/know-your-neutrals/#sthash.9o3dHB5C.6064IcXU.dpbs Essentially you need to pick an undertone first, the grey second. She gives several examples for each undertone. Pick the undertone the corresponds with the majority of your fixed elements -- tile wood countertops fireplaces and general light exposure north south east west etc. Behr Paint gets a bad rap but it's actually pretty amazing. They use way more pigments then SW and BM. they have four bases instead of two. That works for us anyway. but I guess you can figure out your undertone from this article and then go look at the Sherwin-Williams strips. look at the darkest end of a strep and it will give you an idea of the undertone that will show up in the lighter colors . Otherwise I highly recommend following our Pros recommendation to paint the house white if you must, until you get it decorated. or have the Sherwin Williams color expert come to your house. it's your house, paint it whatever you want. However yes, the common areas are typically painted the same one or two colors depending on the light exposure. additional rooms tend to have their own color schemes....See MoreNew construction need help choosing paint colors.
Comments (0)Need help with choosing 3 paints colors for our house to go well with cabinet colors and tile colors chosen. Our kitchen and living room face north, dining room faces south. We have 10’ ceilings on bottom floor and bedroom have cathedral ceilings. The cabinets color is “fog” and the island color is a darker color “dusk”. Our fireplace has shiplap and is going to be same color as trim. We have dark gray couches. We want our house to feel big but also feel cozy if that’s possible. We like grays but don’t want to over do it and have the house to feel to “cool”. If you could give me advice on Sherwin william paints that would be great. Ideas on fixtures would be great too. Thanks!...See MoreFlo Mangan
