Who's your favorite online orchid seller?
Comments (25)Carmela's is by far the best outfit I've ordered plants from. The plants come well-packed, of good size, and have done the best long-term in my collection. Eoom is next--wish their selection was bigger--followed by v.coerulea on ebay, then Carter and Holmes, whose stuff is small and young for the pot size. Alia...See Morefavorite on-line sources for orchids
Comments (25)Agreed with 90% of the vendors recommended above, most carry from good to great plants. I've ordered from 21 vendors within the last 2 1/2 years, and IMHO, despite how reputable these vendors are, you'll find out there are times you won't be happy with what was sent, either it's a wrong plant or plants with bugs, broken pbs due to poor packing, etc... In short, what sets these vendors apart is their Customer Service/Relations. You pay a good price for your plants, you should be treated fairly, you shouldn't have to feel intimidated when you need to present a complaint. It's not a bad idea to search for input/feedback in this forum, and others, before ordering your plants. In MY experience, here are *some vendors* not only provide good quality plants but also provide excellent to good customer service (not in any order): Kawamoto Orchids - very understanding, prompt replies - not only send you free plant with each purchase, they even send me a free plant with resent plants. New World Orchids - fantastic service and prompt replies. EOoM - good service/prompt replies. Tropical Orchid Farms - good service/prompt replies Hoosiers - good service/prompt replies. Orchidaceae - good service/prompt replies Carmela's - good service. CalOrchids - good service/prompt replies. Santa Barbara Orchid Estates - good service/prompt replies. Olympic Orchids - good service/prompt replies...See MoreIdeas for another gardening class?
Comments (9)The Legendary Mr. Holman (heretofore know as "No-Show Lucas") will be speaking on "Drought Tolerant Perennials and Annuals". Ya'll need to hook up and drive down together next week so he doesn't get lost or nod off. Since Lucas finally made an appearance at the '07 fall MTPS I think it only fitting that we pass down the moniker and dub you "No-Show Ryan" until you rectify that circumstance. Well Coop, I was contemplating on hitting you up do a lecture on Hydro's anyway but the Landscape thing sounds even better! A walking tour through the HHSP wouldn't work and I wouldn't want to see any elicit unauthorized laundry cart racing down the paved park path but a static "standing" lecture would be cool! :-) Go ahead and mark your calendar anyway even if you donÂt want to do a lecture you should still come to the spring and fall swaps. When you get a break from your busy schedule shoot me an email at jtoothmanindadj@comcast.net! Jeff...See MoreHave you ever taken a Master Class online?
Comments (8)Yeonasskey, you are asking about the classes that are taught under the brand name “Master Class,” aren’t you? The ones where Annie Leibovitz teaches photography and Ken Burns teaches documentary filmmaking and Anna Wintour teaches how to win friends and influence enemies? I haven’t taken one, but I’m following to hear what those who have think about them....See Moremartinca_gw sunset zone 24
