Comments (27)Re: the snow in Newfoundland - they got 30 inches in 2 days, and that with almost 100 m.p.h. winds. People told to stay home. About 70 inches since just before Christmas. They often get the tail end of storms that come up the east coast - and sometimes tail ends can be unpleasant (even with dogs). We got some snow Fri and Sat, with some rain. Landlord hadn't ploughed the lane, I wondered whether more snow overnight would mean I couldn't get out. I put a snow shovel into the car before departure: better safe than sorry, Dad used to say. The undercarriage of the car dragged over the snow a bit as I came through a small drift just outside the door, and I doubt whether there was visible dragging as I came down the lane: will see when I go home (if before dark). Comments (29)Murraysmom, I used to give cat food to an old lady who lived down the bayou from me. I had her 4 cats neutered for her. She died and I fed the cats. Meanwhile, someone dumped out a white cat there. She had kittens. I told her boyfriend I would find homes for the kittens. He said he was keeping one and he knew people who would take the others. But he moved off and left them. I moved away but furnished food and paid someone to feed them. Once I got settled, I went back and got them. By then the mama cat, and her 3 daughters were all pregnant...they all had white kittens. 6 years agoIt's hard to pick a favorite picture of Teddy. But I picked one that to me epitomized his life on the farm when I owned him. He had a large pasture filled with friends and food. He loved it there. The other pictures were a cool capture of how much horses love to roll! :)
Did anyone who ever had a horse hear the saying about a horse being worth $1,000 every roll they completed? So rolling back and forth several times meant they were worth several thousand dollars? I had heard it many years ago and of course isn't conclusive of anything, but just folklore.
