What chandelier would look good over my stairs/catwalk?
Comments (10)Hard to tell from the photo, but it seems to me the hallway/stairwell is fairly narrow. Instead of a chandelier which might overpower the space, think about putting larger wall sconces at the top of the landing and near the bottom of the stairs....See MoreWood stairs transitioning to carpet stairs

Comments (7)Yes there are staircase fabricators who make all manner of staircases. Your steel frame does NOT get wrapped. The wood treads get bolted onto the frame. See picture. Because you have three fabricators, you will end up being responsible for meeting code. Don't do it. Find a staircase fabricator. They have the experience with getting the stair railing guy and the structure guy to fabricate the stair under their direction. Frankly, even a seasoned GC would never put himself in the position you're in. https://www.mylenstairs.com/floating-stairs/mono-stringers/ floating stairs...See Morewooden floor - non wooden staircase
Comments (4)Stair finishes are the same options as flooring. If you do not have wood, then we are playing ( mostly) with carpet. For carpet you have the runner, which you say is not your style, or you have full carpet coverage of all treads and risers. In 'theory' you can use vinyl, porcelain (don't recommend), stone ( don't recommend), cork (can be done)... And that's about it. You say the runner isn't your style, so what is? That's why a photo is so nice. We pick up style cues from other things in the photo....See MoreSue 123
