Wood stairs transitioning to carpet stairs

We are almost done putting in antique looking solid stranded bamboo floors throughout the bottom floor of our house. We planned on changing the carpet stairs to the bamboo (with white risers) but each stair tread is over $140 (plus tax and shipping)!! Would it be ok to just do the lower steps and 1st landing in the bamboo, which is visible from the hall, and keep the rest carpet? The upstairs is all carpet and our stairs are U shaped with 2 landings. The stair hallway will also be painting in the light grey and the rail will be black. Possible inspiration picture below. Thanks!!
