Floof: What is your favorite wine?
Comments (51)I love dry red wine, mostly Cabernets. I've been buying this Chateau Fage at my local store which is super dry and only $10a bottle. Bogle cabernet and merlot are decent for about the same price. California wines may be good but tend to be more expensive. Stag's Leap is a favorite of ours but we save it for special occasions. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is good for a change. I use it a lot for piccata and scampi type dishes and finish the bottle just for fun....See MoreFloof: what's your favorite comic strip?
Comments (29)A few ( like 10 or 12) years ago, I went to a comic convention and saw a panel of writers from Mad Magazine. They had very interesting things to say and were still funny. I bought a set of CDs from them that contained all the Mad Magazines going back to the beginning through the current date, which was about 12 years ago. Here's something I copies from that CD set, from the 1963 set. I especially liked that because we got so many reruns of Gale Storm back then. Here's a scan from one of my Pogo books: This has my three favorite characters in it. Back in the early 1960s, you could get plastic figures of Pogo characters in Oatmeal (or something similar), and I collected them all. A few years ago, I bought the ones I did not still have for about $10 each from Yahoo stores. I think people sell them on eBay also, but they are more expensive there. I bought some of the books I did not have on Yahoo and Amazon. I wish Yahoo still had stores - I used to sell there....See MoreFloof! Rate your year!
Comments (31)5/10 Tons of ups and down. I had Covid which finally showed up on a rapid test April Fools Day. It was not funny. At. All.... I was sick for 12 days at home until it finally came back negative, then took more probably 3 more weeks to feel back to normal once I went back to work. I was constantly out of breath doing the smallest jobs. I still have some brain fog. We went to BC to see my parents and sister, and also my nephew got married (again) in Harrison Hot Springs. So that was wonderful. My son and his little boy drove out with us and the four of us had such a good time driving all over the lower mainland. I ended up with bronchitis in October/November that was worse than the Covid! Nothing I took helped relieve the symptoms. With Covid Dayquil and Tylenol were my best friends. Didn't touch the bronchitis. I was sick for over three weeks and only took 3 days off work. I've masked ever since. Christmas was really nice. My kids always come over and this year my youngest son has a new girlfriend who has a 4 year old and they came for the day too. It's New Years Eve now and not sure who all is coming over for the Dutch Oliebollen tradition. My daughter for sure with her boyfriend. I'm making tons so if there are leftovers, YAY me! LOL...See MoreFloof: What is your most rarely used possession?
Comments (47)I think the main reason why I never use that Cuisinart FP is because it's so darn complicated. I had an old Sunbeam (I think that's what it was) for years and it was so simple to put together. I used it often but it finally bit the dust so I got the Cuisinart one and every time I've tried to use it, I have to watch a video of how to put it together. It really should NOT be that difficult to assemble! Similar thing with the newest rendition of the Black and Decker carpet spot cleaner. Our old one gave up the ghost so we had to buy the newest one and I really just do not like it. Taking it apart for cleaning is a puzzle each time. The old one was so simple and it also did a better job of cleaning up the dog accidents. I use it because I have to....See More
