Do you have a reddish/pinkish room I can see?
Comments (2)I think that this one has a similar color: You can also look at the living room category to see if they have sitting rooms with this color. Good Luck- It's a great color! Comments (30)I'm SO glad it's not just me! Of course I would never say anything out loud - well, okay I did hint to MIL that changing the colors a bit might liven up her space when she mentioned wanting to add cabinets - but I can't help noticing and planning other people's kitchens. Now, I'm not so bad when it's simply a kitchen that's not to my taste - I'm talking about builder-grade kitchens, or those that have solid construction but nobody ever bothered to think about color schemes or efficiency. Writersblock, that is so funny about your pulmonogist's office floor tile. I get the same urges when I come across design elements I love at unexpected places, like holligator I have not been above taking discreet pictures! The problem is that the ones I see most often are the ones that especially make me want to scream, and of course the owners - not having the benefit of reading this forum - are blissfully unaware. One has the range right up between an open doorway - no frame, no counter - and the other side is the 2' depth of counter space running along the wall at a right angle. There is however a beautiful open space to put in more counters and turn it into a galley kitchen, but no, everything is crammed along a single stretch. Funny enough though, my French aunts have typical teeny-tiny European kitchens where everything is diminutive and there is practically no counter space at all, and it doesn't bother me one bit! Go figure! Of course we don't all have the same needs or tastes, but when I see the UNplanned dysfunction and stubborn ugliness of the kitchens where nobody has ever questioned the original design, I have to wonder, was this really put in ON PURPOSE???...See MoreWhat do you hide and what can you see...
Comments (14)I also believe in having a well run organized home--everything has it's place. I have lots of organizer compartments in my drawers to stash all the pencils, keys, extraneous clutter, etc. I just bought a set of pretty baskets for my DH's closet because I was tired of looking at the clutter in his shelves when his closet was open. I'm thinking of getting some smaller sized wicker containers for some cubbies I have in my message center. Or I could get some cardboard boxes and cover with fabric... next year sometime. Yet, are things always put back? With three kids and my DH, most certainly not. I also don't like wires showing yet my DH is a tech nut and we have lots of tech goodies which are in various stages of completion--due to many demands on his time--so in theory once the area gets finished, I'm going to hide all those wires. I am fast becoming a fan of wireless stuff, though. I just got a new keyboard and mouse last week for my computer and they are wireless. Love, love, love it!!! That and well placed grommits and putting outlets in cabinets wherever possible. We have an outlet in the masterbath hutch for the sonicare so no toothbrushes setting out, outlet and phone jack in cab. below for message center, plus outlet in office cabinet for the charging station for all the phones, cameras, and DH's misc. tech goodies....See Morewhat do you see outside your living room window?
Comments (46)Neighbor's house across the street and if I look down, a pile of dying flowers and mud piled up. Have been trying to get my bulbs in, and move the clay soil into the backyard but it's slow going with work and my back not being that great these days...and the rain. Friday managed to dig up all the beds I had planted, put down chicken wire to protect them from squirrels and chipmunks. I'm hoping it's not too cold or wet tomorrow afternoon to finish planting the rest and move the mud into the backyard....See More
