Can anybody identify this dining room lamp?

Any idea? There are a ton of very similar lamps but I can't seem to find this exact one.

Looks like an Alexander Calder sculpture - similar to one like this.

Les, Oh! Thanks for the clarification. My son is an anthropology major and he wants to be an archeologist. He has been interested in Asian culture since he was a kid. About a month after starting school, he came home one weekend and told me about an international exchange program he was thinking about applying to in China. While I was excited for him, I really thought it was a whim. But he applied, got an early acceptance and the rest is history. It is a really great program for him as he will be studying the language and Asian history. He will also have an opportunity to visit other parts of China. It is a great experience for his field. His next stop for Junior Year, Japan! He took Japanese his freshman year and did really well so he is not intimitated at all with the language issue. This is 10x harder than when he left for college. I really thought was ready but I am having a really difficult time and this is only the 1st day. I think I hijacked my own thread!!

Swag lamp question....off center over dining room table

Had to do that with my dining area. The fixture was centered in the room, but you can not put the table centered in the room since there would be no where to pass by. So when I changed it from the fugly Early American hurricane/copper chandy to a more contemporary lamp with a black chain, I had to swag it to center over the table. It does not look weird at all. This is the only pic I can find. I don't know why it looks like there is a black wire sticking up, it's not really there. But you can see I have a small swag.

In fairness to Keeping Room, OP merely stated that to his knowledge, the table had been bought prior to 1969. There were plenty of mass produced wood furniture produced prior to 1969. Even brown wood furniture manufactured earlier than that, is not particularly valuable unless there is something unique in the design. Craigslist is filled with listings for furniture with no takers Even if the table was manufactured in 1900, it would have little value because brown furniture of that style is not currently desirable and the market is flooded with it of all vintage. I had some very elaborate Victorian China cabinets with bowed glass which I know dated from the late 19th century and I could hardly give them away last year. If I had any room or way of using, I would have kept, but I found thema hime with my neighbor’s brother It’s a functional table and if OP needs it and likes it, there is the value but realistically not much dollar market of one tries to sell it.
