Comments (25)oh mayflowers forgot to say that I like the idea of adding cabinets to back of peninsula area but was also thinking of having two backless bar stools with black leather seats there as well. Will have to think about the wainscoating and now that I look closely the area could use an update and it is scuffed up. the more we look the more we see that needs help with this house Ugh thanks so much Here is the living room, my carpenter is fashioning a pine wood free floating mantle as we speak, it will have oil on it and natural tones. We have sofa facing the fireplace that's a thin cordoroy material in a light blue/green and plan to have an accent chair against the other wall (the staircase wall) with perhaps some type of server or china cabinet over there, dining area is too small for china cabinet but might be able to have a behind the sofa credenza (for more storage) we also plan to have an area rug in front of the sofa. I am looking for a gray one with texture if I can find one. what do you think of those ideas? Right now the dining area has a work table we're using till we find what we want lol...See MoreBlue-gray sofa with tan walls?
Comments (15)I probably should have left the blue out of my description but on my monitor it does have a steel-blue cast to it. I sent for a swatch so I can be sure what color I'm talking about. I searched the furniture forum and C&B got really good reviews so I'm inclined to get it (after I actually sit in the real thing, of course). I might have to re-paint the Great Room though. And I just painted. ugh. (I have high ceilings and I'm afraid of heights so I have to talk my DH into climbing up there & he works a bazillian hours). Oh well. I'll probably wait with that until after I get the furniture (IF I get it). BTW I started another thread about "starting from scratch". I've got a house full of teak Scandinavian furniture (orangey-warm color) which I just found out is in style?! Would a gray sectional work with that?...See MoreStarting over with decorating. Comments (2)You might want to post this on the Home Decorating forum, along with photos of the room. An accent wall may not be what you need....See MorePaint color..too grey..too blue..too yellow
Comments (5)The closest color in Sherwin-Williams in terms of luminance (Value and LRV) is a new Emerald Designer Collection color. Agreeable Gray is closer in terms of hue but it's a slightly darker color. You don't have to know what the color notations in the table mean to compare and understand the similarity....See Moreeld6161
