When talking doesn't help?
Comments (15)OMG, you must be the person who bought my old house!!! our neighbors were hopelessly intrusive. husband in early stages of alzheimer's (yes, it was sad). he would set up a lawn chair smack in the middle of his backyard and literally watch DH mow the lawn. the wife would relentlessly come out to chit-chat while we were engaged in hard yard labor. we laid all the sod in a 1/2 acre backyard on our own. when it started to rain on us and we just kept going, she had the nerve to come stand over us and say "you two will NEVER get this finished." once, the husband chased down my DH who was backing out of the driveway to go to work. DH rolled down the window to ask what he needed. the guy asked permission to hunt the ducks in our backyard (ducks were all in his head). I'm a loner and even though I am with people all day at work and many people consider me their "best friend" in the workplace, friendly and out-going, when I get home, leave...me...alone! mimi, i can SO relate! my garden is my place to come home from a day of minimal progress at the office and MAKE A DENT IN SOMETHING! at work, i constantly have to be "on." i am chipper, kind, and exceedingly paitent with people. when i come home, i don't want to have to "work at it" anymore. i want to be alone with my plants--they don't expect me to be "polite company." LOL my current complaint about neighbors is the annoying people behind us who insist on leaving their floodlight on until sometimes 11:00 at night. they are also exceedingly loud people. we call them the "loudniks." seriously, i think the wife has banned the husband from talking on the phone in the house b/c he is so d*** loud! the worst is when their cousins come over and the kids are outside playing all night with the adults sitting around on the patio talking. i mean, how late is too late for kids to be outside screaming "Bubba, look at me! Look at MEEEEEEEEE! Hey BUBBBBBBBBA!!!! Look what I can do! LOOOOOOOOOOKKKK!" Is 10:30 PM too late for that? I mean, I wouldn't dare compain that kids are outside yelling and playing during the day--I mean, geez that's what a neighborhood is about. But c'mon, when can I expect to sit out on my porch and drink my tea without the screaming and blaring spotlights?!?! gotta love neighbors. maybe one day i will save up enough to buy a farm--or buy new neighbors ;-)...See MoreMy husband doesn't ask for much, but when he does...
Comments (29)What a difference between the quality of Schlage and Baldwin (had Schlage in previous house). Baldwin is solid and will last as long as the door. Have the same colour family as you pictured (an older bronze) and love it. Goes with everything. When we moved in there were Schlage locks on the exterior doors so we decided to upgrade the doors to the outside and garage and went with Baldwin. Because it was hardware to the outside we went with the "Estate" quality in the Baldwin line. But for interior doors, I would have chose the medium quality. Also, just a heads up....for doors that lock I would suggest avoiding the ones that lock automatically when the door is closed. Very easy to lock yourself out. Suggest using a key to lock the door when leaving. Ours was already an oval theme so we kept that and are fine with it, but I think the square will also look super!...See MoreComcast remote doesn't work well when recording a program
Comments (7)John, You are 100% right, the Box is just a mini Computers and are subject to everything a normal computer is (Lockups, freezes, resetting etc...). Sometimes you do need to replace the box ifthe same problem persists. This will happen on my box whether I have anything on the DVR or not. It is very temperamental and will something do it's own thing. There are times none of the Buttons work (on the remote or on the box itself). I usually have to unplug the box and let it set for a while (resetting it). My real problem is with all the Trips I've made to Comcast exchanging equipment. I recently replaced 2 Cable Adapter Boxes and my Modem/Router. The Modem/Router was the 6th in a year. Once I was home and all hooked up one of the Cable Adapter Boxes didn't work correctly and neither did the Modem/Router. I ended up having Comcast come out this time and they found nothing wrong! I packed up the Modem/Router and took them back again to Comcast. They Replaced the Cable Adapter Box with the same model. The Modem/Router, well I requested a Modem this time with no Router. I decided to use my old Linksys Router. I now have everything working except for the Cable Box in the front room (it had a bunch of stuff on the DVR my daughter recorded). I couldn't return the box for fear of being killed by my daughter (would have lost all her recordings)(maybe next time)....See MoreKitchen Bulkhead / Soffit Doesn't Line Up with Cabinets
Comments (6)just leave it...a 3 walled kitchen..is the yellow affecting your existence there so much? It looks clean, generous in size, etc. The yellow is bold, not a typical pick but it's a statement and the space would lack much character if it were white paint. The soffit issue is there but the cabinets are set up in a decent way , considering. Get some brown/white patterned floor mats to balance it out and add a little soft feel. Maybe he'd give you a bamboo shade or wood look blind at the window. It's fine...just cook and have your friends by , etc....See MoreErin W
