don't know what it is, but I like it!
Comments (17)Thanks for all the replies, and for the welcome, Sherri. :) Not sure what is in the future of this neat piece, but thanks for all good ideas! For now it's tines are digging into the soil and cedar mulch between butterfly bushes. I was thinking maybe it came from a metal gazebo, too. I'll be watching for more goodies like this for awhile, I think. ~JoAnn...See MoreBoy, it's a good thing I don't like to watch much TV!
Comments (9)LOL...Do you like to read, Susan? DH and I like to read. We are on satellite, and NEVER watch t.v. that much. DH threatens to cancel our satellite subscription, but I tell him "wait, wait, I'll start watching it", but I never do. LOL. I just LOVE my books. I affectionally tell my friends that travel that I travel too~~~ I have been to Russia as a spy, the Congo on a Safari, an archelolgist in Egypt, in the mideast on a cia covert mission, hidden slaves in my home during the civil war, been in the revolutionary war fightin'- in 3 feet of snow with hypothermia, why I have been Scarlet in a tissy and NOW I DO know something about birthing those babies!!(with long southern eyelashes slapping my "scarlet" cheeks). My adventures only exist in my books and in my imagination.:)...See MoreOH NO...what did I do... don't look if you don't like spiders
Comments (17)For three days now, I have been seeing a rather large spider crawling across the top shelf of my computer desk. I haven't tried to catch it to put it outside, because grabbing among all the stuff on the shelf would result in a disaster. It must be difficult to go through life fearful of bugs, spiders, snakes, etc. I don't have that fear, in fact for the most part I find them fascinating, and in the case of spiders, when practical, adopt a live and let live attitude. My mother was the same, as is my sister and my children. But in my husbands family, they all are more fearful. So I am wondering if a persons feelings about such things are inherited or perhaps learned....See MoreIt's not that I don't like gray.....
Comments (15)I've been biting my tongue, but it's not working, so please forgive me horning in here. :) Your textured golden walls are beyond beautiful and unique, just as they are. They are Devine! " ... the color both the painter and man at paint store said we should use ..." They do not get to vote! Nor do I, but I can serve as a cautionary tale. I live in an old, tired, far-too-small home. We went to the considerable expense to remove the only bathroom, to the studs, and replumb it. The new 7x10 floor plan works perfectly. Except... I begged and pleaded and delayed the project trying to show how and why a walk-in/roll-in, non-curbed shower/wet room would be better than the too-small, awkward bathtub with shower head I was forced to install. I could have had a 7x4 shower in the same footprint. Nope! Carpenter and husband said "you must have a standard bathtub" ... and the resulting odd 2' hole to the left of it. I have arthritis in my feet and knees. I knew I would not be able to safely step into the 14" high tub for long. Now, four years later, I'm facing hip surgery. I've already fallen twice trying to step over the tub to take a shower. So, do I pay to have the bathroom stripped out again to get a useable and sizeable shower, or do I give up the slightly bigger bedroom to have a walk-in shower installed there - on the opposite end of the house from the 12x12 room that will then have to become our bedroom? I have not used this bathtub once in five years. It has injured me twice. I do not care one iota about a mythical future buyer or what is oh-so-trendy. I need a large walk-in shower. Ditto for the 9+ Ft.-wide LR window I had to replace but was "not allowed" to install a smaller, 85" window that would have allowed a better use of the 15' long room. "They" should not get to vote on your decisions for your home. I think grey is an appropriate dull color for battleships and coffins. I do not understand it's saturation of the decorating world. But, I do not get to vote either....See Morelkgrace345
