i village ad help needed
Comments (10)I'm running Firefox on a Mac, and agree that turning Java on and off would be a pain. For AdBlockPlus, I think the major relevant filters for GardenWeb are: http://iv/doubleclick.net/* intellitxt.com^ There are a few others that go after specific ads like the Angie's List popup, and some Google ad things. The * is a wild card where any URL that starts with that string gets blocked. That may be what they mean by a pattern. There isn't one source of ads that blocks them all, but at least 95% are coming from a small number of sources. Once you get those, the onesies and twosies are easy....See MoreArgh! Comments (4)You don't indicate where you live or even your gardening zone. We need that info. Depending on that info I see several possible problems. (1) poor, inconsistent watering methods leading to heavy stress, shallow rooting, root rot, and possibly poorly draining soil (no such thing as "organic soil" so what are we talking about?). How much and what type of compost? Any possibility of weed killer contamination in it? Consistency in soil moisture levels is the goal, not one extreme to another. Consistent low moisture levels. And moisture meters are notorious for being inaccurate. Use your hands. Tunnel down to the 6" level where the root are and feel the soil (2) way too much soaker hose in place for such small beds contributing to watering issues. 3) the wood chip mulch - never recommended for vegetable beds - binds up nitrogen and attracts pests especially slugs and root maggots. 4) all the Neem oil spraying. It causes its own issues with plants when not used and applied properly. Use when needed is one thing. Regular use when it may not even be needed is something else entirely. Application times, methods, and amounts are critical. Sorry but IMO you are going to have to make some major changes in methods to save those plants. Dave...See MoreAd Blocker Info Again Please?

Comments (12)Yes, lightlystarched, bmorepanic and salmon_slayer (what a name!), I agree, that 'V' is bothering me too. Do you think it would work if we just softened the 'V' and the countertop corners on the cabinet or would it still be too large? I am hoping to put an undercounter refrigerator there so a smaller one would not work for that purpose. But also don't want to create an eyesore. So I keep looking for pictures of something similar but haven't found anything yet. salmon_slayer, we are going with Elm cabinets, it is a local brand here (NJ), marketed as "reasonably priced" (they think :)) custom cabinets. We saw them at a neighbor's house and were very impressed so decided to use them too. One benefit - same price for inset as for full overlay. I was very happy about that and decided to go with the inset but now learning it may be harder to achieve the integrated look with the dishwasher (the doors on the full overlay help to cover more of the appliances, something I didn't consider previously), so now thinking about that one again. As far as the microwave goes, KD suggested the cabinet above the appliance garage. Well, it is very far from the fridge and also right next to the basement door. Our laundry and also a play area are in the basement so there is some traffic. Should I be concerned about it? The other option is the upper cabinet next to the refrigerator but even apart from the way it would look, it would mean dividing the upper cabinets on both sides of the range into a 24" and a 10" so loosing some storage on the right side as well....See MoreWalnutCreek Zone 7b/8a
