Cat Threw Up In The Washing Machine!
Comments (13)thanks nancy_drew, I will ask the vets about that Petromalt. They are both due for a checkup anyway. So they will have a shave and a checkup (2 bits! haha, sorry). dorisl, DH felt the same way about cats.. Until he got his own. He was a dog person to the max, but a dog would not be practical for us with our lifestyle right now. I kept at him for about 6 years to get a cat... Every time he asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said "A kitten!" Then he would ask me what ELSE I wanted... And I would say... "A kitten!". Finally he told me a co-worker's cat was having kittens. So of course I pushed my luck and said "Now I want TWO kittens! His and Hers kittens!" So we ended up each picking out a kitten. Needless to say, the one I picked out became DH's cat, and the one he picked out became my cat. And my formerly dog-preferring, cat-disliking DH is completely besotted with his cat now. He talks to that cat constantly, shops for treats and toys, insists on being the one to feed the cats... I guess what I am saying is: Never say never to a cat. :-)...See MoreWashing Machine Backing Up
Comments (4)If there is light grit or sand in the trap it's possible the snake went right past it without catching hold of it. I've heard of people vacuuming it out or using a bladder to push it on. There really out to be a code req. that the trap of a washing machine be accessible as a sink trap is. Commercial laundries have these things - which are ridiculously expensive for what they are - to avoid the problem. Comments (1)From the sound of things, your well water is exceptionally "hard". The term "hard" means that the water has a high concentration of dissolved minerals in it. You should seek out an independent water testing lab and have them tell you what is in your water and how much. OR.... you could get a free water analysis from Culligan or other companies that sell water softeners but just remember that they are trying to sell you something. Products such as CLR can be used to clean up faucet aerators, shower heads, tea kettles and washing machine screens that get coated with lime but it's an ongoing process. I think that you will have to consider putting in a softener. There are softeners out there that do not need any sort of salt but they are more expensive than the regular softeners....See MoreI am so fed up with my sewing machine.
Comments (6)I am not a sewing machine expert, but I do make a lot of quilts. Occasionally, like everyone else, my machine does what you are describing and usually a quick cleaning or re-threading fixes the problem. It is not normal for a 5-6 year old machine to be doing this so it sounds like it time for a trip to a service place. It's worth it to reduce the stress it's causing. Like the previous poster said, get an estimate so you can decide if you want to repair or replace! You said it doesn't matter if it's the top or bottom thread. Do you mean it does it with both? From a trouble shooting perspective it does matter which it is so if it's one or the other it would help to know that. Is this machine new to you or have you had it a while? Did it ever work OK or has it been doing this as long as you've had it? If you bought it used, and it's never worked for you, then this might be why the last person got rid of it! But if it used to work fine for you, then it can almost certainly be fixed. What's the model? There may be others here with similar problems. Try posting this on the quilting forum too be cause there are lots of quilters with Brother machines and they may be able to help if they know the model. Good luck!...See Moredrheisesr
