DIY removal of mirrors mounted on wood glued to wall - possible?
Comments (6)If it's indeed glued, u probly have no choice but to demo the wall behind and install new. Drywall is not that hard to do. I have a vow after I bought my first house, any contractor who exhibit annoyance, not helpful in answering questions, look down at job as too menial, will take care ONLY of certain things but not others, are to be shown the door and please don't call....See MoreKeep or remove fiberboard walls?
Comments (8)Do you know if the original plaster is intact underneath? It would be wonderful if you could restore the walls to their original state. I suspect the dropped ceiling was put in at the same time to help with heating costs. If you are removing the walls, remove that ceiling too. Comments (4)Denice, after you repaired the drywall, did you apply any spray on texture? I'm going to guess no. whenever you patch and skim drywall, it has to have a texture coating or you will see the outline. Looks like you should have skimmed the joint a little better too. after skimming, apply this wall texture spray. you have a very fine orange peel I use this. practice on cardboard until you get the right texture that is on the wall. feather it on the wall and overlap the good/new areas. you'll have to prime once it dries. then paint again couple of videos on how to do it 1st video is pretty good. tells you how to patch from start to finish, and how to use the texture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FonedKgrP5U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iCBEHpkro4...See MoreShould we keep or remove the pony wall with arched opening?
Comments (3)Personally I would keep it. It is attractive, and I dislike my kitchen open to living and dining rooms. Kitchens create a mess when you are cooking, and guests, shouldnt have to look at it, unless of course, they are in the kitchen helping, but, its not a great look, when having a nice dinner in the dining room....See Moreflash07
