Soffit over vanity . . . remove or keep?
Comments (5)Ok, then, it's almost done! Thank you both!! Sconces would be my first choice, but they won't fit even if I replace our wall mirror with two 24" wide mirrors for each sink because we have recessed medicine cabinets that are built into each side wall that are hinged near the corners. I'm trying to replace the old medicine cabinets anyway. I'm looking for a couple of mirrored medicine cabinets that I could wall mount over each sink but haven't found them yet . . ....See MoreShould we keep or remove the pony wall with arched opening?
Comments (3)Personally I would keep it. It is attractive, and I dislike my kitchen open to living and dining rooms. Kitchens create a mess when you are cooking, and guests, shouldnt have to look at it, unless of course, they are in the kitchen helping, but, its not a great look, when having a nice dinner in the dining room....See MoreTo keep or remove window over fireplace?
Comments (35)Why is it okay to look up at a movie screen but not a TV? When we have a TV connected up (we don't right now), it's low and on a piece of furniture, because I don't want a fixed altar of media worship on the wall whether it's at the baseboard or the ceiling. But several people I know have TVs mounted high on the wall even though they do not have fireplaces, and I don't know, I have never found it all that uncomfortable. However, they don't really lie there and watch TV, they seem to watch it mostly from a standing position when they are doing stuff in the kitchen or sitting at the table....See MoreAdding chandelier in dining nook - remove can lights? Or keep them?
Comments (3)I think the two tightly spaced can lights look awkward in that tiny area. The chandelier will be a big improvement and I think the two bulbs will give plenty of light to the nook. Do make sure it's on a dimmer so you can control the ambiance. I'd get rid of the cans. I love this chandelier and think it will be really fun in your space!...See MoreCarolyn Albert-Kincl, ASID
