black door would look nice. Your plants are hostas and other perennials that will return in the spring.

I like the color door you have now. I also see that most of your plants are outside plants and they will do just fine. They are now dormant. They are called perennials. They will spring to life again when the weather turns nice in the spring. Then in the fall, they will die down again. You may have to trim some of the dead growth of them, so they come back in the spring and nice and clean, and look as good as they do in the pictures. They are beautiful. Just from your pictures, I see Hostas and daylillies (both extremely hardy plants) I cant quite tell what the red ones are behind the hostas.

Black door maybe? Your plants will all come back next year. Hostas and daylilies are fabulous-hostas in particular are my favorite.

I also am not a fan of the roof color. Hideous! Black is my go-to in my previous homes, but thought it might look too harsh with all the browns... Yes, the plants will come back, but is there anything I could add so that we have SOME greenery during the winter?

Your house is really attractive! I guess I’m not a fan of red doors. How about a forest green, not a bright or lime green?

edited to add about adding green foliage to the front: there’s no way for us to advice you on that unless you tell us where in the world you live. Your home looks American so I guess you are in the US, but where? What grows in Georgia probably won’t do well in Michigan . . .

Encore azaleas are beautiful.They bloom twice a year and stay green in the winter. I have planted them with daylillies and hosta and all look very nice together. Plant them in the blank spaces between other plants. Just remember they get big in a few years. But beautiful year round.

you can find out what zone you are in and find things that are evergreen. If you don’t get a lot of snow maybe you’ll be able to see them.
