Need gift ideas for 82 year old new grandpa
Comments (1)Sounds like he is really enjoying life. Besides what you have listed, you might give gift cert. from local grocery stores, restruants, and if you feel you would like him to "update" his clothes, a gift cert. from his favorite shop, like Penny's Sears, etc. Also a couple of pictures of the new grandson with/without GP. Does he write letters" maybe some note cards. Both KMart, Walmart and Hallmark have really nice ones. Also check K Mart in the card department, sometimes they have really cute stationary pads that all you do is fill out the blanks, or put check marks. Comments (19)Oh your poor daughter - she must feel awful about the shopping cart damage. It's terrible when you can't even park your car safely in the parking lot. My previous car was hit while parked at the supermarket too and of course the driver took off. I hope the car only needs some paint and not a dent removed....See MoreFathers Day gift for the 82 yo dad who has everything?
Comments (23)Thanks for all the ideas. I have given him a few photo books, which he always enjoys. And we are taking him to the area where he grew up (across the country) this summer, to visit his siblings. That was his birthday gift! I think I'll stick with the "experience" idea. He's not really into art museums or shows, but he likes beer (!) so DH and I are taking him on a brewery tour, including lunch, on Fathers Day. Later, for dinner, we are all (including my kids) going out to a nice restaurant....See MoreThinking about gifts for a 12-year-old boy who wants to cook?
Comments (19)Thanks, Fun2BHere! I'll check them out. Sonni1, great notion if his free time weren't all taken up by swim. Anglophilia, many thanks for the perspective and insight into what's coming. Islay is quite right that he doesn't need a special diet at his age. Just one that's more meat and vegetables, less cheese and sweets, than your average kid or cookbook. The fitness cookbooks might be good for that. I'll give them a close look. I talked to the mom about this today, armed with suggestions from you all. She seemed to like the idea of the wok, and talked it out. In the end, we decided together that the boy isn't quite ready for it. It came up without prompting that she already gets Cooking Light. I'm leaning toward books and maybe some specialty tools....See MoreBunny
