Your room is lovely. My concern is that all of the trim is stained in my office and dining room. I am afraid that the white will stand out and not blend with the wall and trim colors. The trim and walls in the two bedrooms are similiar to your photo, and I think the white would look great in those rooms. I will not rule out the white, but I would appreciate more input.

xoxosmom, I saw two Norman shutters side by side, one composite and one real wood. Both were painted in silk white. I couldnÂt see the difference. I had to ask the showroom assistant which was which. The only way I was able to differentiate between the two was opening and closing the louvers. If you pick up samples of shutter panels, you will notice that real wood is lighter in weight and the louvers feels different when opening and closing them. The only reason why I didnÂt go for the composite was that the colors offered didnÂt match my doors and trim. Perhaps IÂm being too picky. There may be an more of a visual difference between real wood and other synthetc brands. IÂm just speaking of Norman shutters. About the picture. I canÂt tell what mount that is. Sorry. maddielee, I love your room and how it looks with shutters. Is your shutter louver size 3-1/2?

Definitely wouldn't do grey doors, you can do black but it's a bold look. Really any color interior door that isn't white or wood is going to be a harder sell when it comes time to sell the home. Without seeing your home I say go with the regular white, interior doors really shouldn't be the star of the show.

@Jan Moyer the colors I like are white, cream, warm greys and greiges, light beige, light blue, and soft pinks and yellows. I don’t like orange, red, bright yellow, navy blue, or black. So that’s why I think the cream walls or trim *might* work? I did break down and paint my bathroom cream walls to match the cream trim and cabinets. It looks great! I added pale turqoise bath mats, and a white shower curtain, and some artwork with pastels. But, it’s just a guest bathroom. I’m nervous about duplicating it in the larger areas, that will be more costly to paint. It’s very outside the box for me to not have white trim, and so much cream everywhere…I could get annoyed with it.
